Dziś zabieram Was do Binarowej. Mała miejscowość w Małopolsce słynie z Kościoła św. Michała Archanioła. Ten jest tylko jednym z punktów Szlaku Architektury Drewnianej, wpisanej na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO.
Today I take you to Binarowa. The small town in Lesser Poland is famous for the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. This one is just one point on the Trail of Wooden Architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
W takich kościołach urzeka mnie... skromność. Wolę zwiedzać tego typu miejsca, niż te okazałe budowle, pełne niesamowitych zabytków. Wyobraźcie sobie, że budowla powstała w 1500 roku. Według UNESCO, ten kościół wraz z kilkoma innymi w okolicy wyróżnia się harmonijnym połączeniem walorów historycznych, architektonicznych i artystycznych, najcenniejsza polichromia spośród wszystkich drewnianych kościołów Małopolski. I trudno nie przyznać tu racji.
In such churches I am captivated by.... modesty. I prefer to visit such places rather than these grandiose buildings, full of amazing monuments. Imagine that the structure was built in 1500. According to UNESCO, this church, along with several others in the area, is distinguished by harmonious combination of historical, architectural and artistic qualities, the most valuable polychrome among all wooden churches of Lesser Poland. And it's hard not to concede the point here.
Oczywiście od 1500 roku konstrukcja była wielokrotnie odbudowywana i modyfikowana. Natomiast gruntowny remont odbył się w 1641 roku. Niestety nie było mi dane zajrzeć do środka, gdyż drzwi były zamknięte. Jednak wewnątrz znajduje się chrzcielnica z 1522 roku i obrazy z XVII wieku. Fotki zabytków i wnętrza kościoła znajdziecie na Wikipedii.
Of course, the structure has been rebuilt and modified several times since 1500. However, a major renovation took place in 1641. Unfortunately, I was not able to take a look inside, as the doors were closed. However, inside there is a baptismal font from 1522 and paintings from the 17th century. Od razu rzuca się w oczy wieża i ciekawa bryła. Jednak, gdy podszedłem bliżej, zauważyłem te równo ułożone jodłowe deski. Wygląda to trochę, jak budowla z zapałek, ale w skali makro. Coś absolutnie niesamowitego w swojej prostocie. Oprócz wpisu na listę UNESCO, budowla ma na swoim koncie jeszcze jeden tytuł – najstarszą znaną drewnianą wieżę przykościelną.
What immediately caught my eye was the tower and the interesting block. However, as I got closer, I noticed these evenly stacked fir planks. It looks a bit like a building made of matchsticks, but on a macro scale. Something absolutely amazing in its simplicity. In addition to its UNESCO listing, this church holds another title - the oldest known wooden church tower.
Chociaż drzwi do środka były zamknięte, udało mi się zajrzeć do przedsionka. A tam krzyż Jezusa Chrystusa, Obraz Matki Bożej i kilka słów na temat historii. A przed tym wszystkim urokliwe drzwi, majestatyczne, jakby kryły jakąś wielką tajemnicę. No i...coś czego nie mogę opisać. Zapach.
Although the door to the inside was closed, I managed to look into the vestibule. And there the cross of Jesus Christ, the Picture of the Mother of God and a few words about history. And in front of all this a charming door, majestic, as if it hid some great secret. And...something I can't describe. The smell.
No i kolejna ciekawostka – W 1898 roku postawiono dzwonnicę z trzema dzwonami. Najstarszy z nich to gotycki z XV wieku. Dwa pozostałe są z 1960 roku.
Well, and another curiosity - In 1898 a bell tower with three bells was erected. The oldest is a Gothic one from the 15th century. The other two are from 1960.
Binarowa mieści się na trasie pomiędzy średniowiecznym miasteczkiem – Bieczem (temat na inny blog) a Tarnowem. Na trasie zobaczycie przepiękne krajobrazy, które też jeszcze sfotografuję.
Binarowa is located on the route between the medieval town - Biecz (a topic for another blog) and Tarnów. On the route you will see beautiful landscapes, which I will also still photograph.
