RE: Congress Passes Bill to Throw Parents of Sexting Teens in Jail for 15 Years

in #politics8 years ago

How the heck can they make that a thing? There is no way a parent can know what a teenager is doing or texting or sexting during a given day. Its not like we can watch them 24/7, nor would we want to.

This is the most idiotic waste of taxpayers dollars, to actually put this forth and vote on it, is insane and ridiculous.

Does this mean that teachers, principals, counselors, and all the other staff (including cafeteria and maintenance staff) will be sent to prison if a student sends them during school hours when staff are responsible for keeping them safe and getting them educated?

It just gets more and more idiotic.

What's next...we get charged for whatever traffic infractions they get when we aren't even in the car with them? No wait...maybe we will get charged with cyber stalking or bullying or for whatever they are surfing the web for if its illegal like porn....

Come on, where the heck did common sense go?

You'll have to literally spy on your children to protect them and yourself from the feds. The law says what it says and treats teenagers as children on the one hand and adults on the other when it's time to dish out the punishment.

I know its just ludicrous, you can't have it both ways, if they are children/teenagers then they aren't adults and vice versa but no one can watch another person 24/7 and this is the most insane law I've heard of in recent years. :(

Somebody needs to give their head a shake and wake up enough to quash this bill. :(
