A government saying "Everyone around me needs to stop using weapons. Or else." doesn't make Hitler out to be anything other than another crazed politician.
He still had a war, you know. Claiming he wanted world peace and security hardly convinces me that he was some sort of saint. Am I to call him "Good Ol' Saint Hitler" now, just because he said something like "We'll stop using weapons if you stop first"?
Everyone, including Hitler, thinks that what they do and say is justified.
I don't trust politicians, you know, and for good reason.
You shouldn't either.
.... and please don't take offense to that but if you were better informed you probably wouldn't have written this post, and instead had the knowledge to write something more informative.
I think my post is really not only attacking your view, but all the other views as well.
It's not about giving information on Hitler or WWII. The point is that WWII was as important to history as Genghis Khan's wars or Napoleon's stuff. It's historical stuff and hardly matters to us, the common person.
It's about saying Hitler is an evolved ape and he's worthless.
He's one human, and there's no reason to give a crap about him.
Screw him, and people like him.
Politicians are trash.
Am I supposed to believe that Hitler really meant it when he said "Lay down your weapons, and I'll lay down mine."?
I highly doubt any government official would actually do such a thing.
Asking for governments to give up their weapons is absurd. We all know that governments love militaries and the ability to subjugate people.
That's their purpose. If Hitler was ignorant enough to think that most of Europe would just "give up" on war, then he's foolish just for that.
Otherwise, if he was at least smart enough to realize no one would give up war, then it'd at least make him publicly look like some sort of nice guy pacifist.
Bullshit lies or complete idiocy. Pick one.
I don't trust any politician, nor government, but that doesn't change the fact that he made several attempts to prevent war, OR, the fact that Germany was attacked because they created their own currency structures & models.
I'm not a sympathizer for anyone and I don't think he's a saint. But your post is a bit shallowly written and overly simplistic.
"Failing on the philosophical battlefield".... I mean, clearly your version of WW2 is the school-taught version. Go listen to Benajmin Freedman's speech and begin learning the real history of WW2 and hopefully it will change your perspective on why Germany was attacked and who initiated that.
Why was this post flagged?
Please do not flag posts for showing political views, no matter how much you disagree with them.
Free speech is for everyone. I do NOT respect "No platform for fascists."
Everyone is encouraged to speak their mind. If you disagree with them strongly enough to flag them, then counter their argument with a better argument instead.
And I'm supposed to believe your alternate version of WWII is the correct version?
It's no secret that USA schooling is filled with propaganda, but even so, I'm not so sure the other side is so wise either.
Of course, my post is still in the middle. I don't see Hitler as some exceptional monster, as many do, but I don't see him as a good guy either.
Wanting peace while preparing for war hardly convinces me though.
