RE: UC Berkeley. Starts free speech movement in 1964. Ends free speech movement in 2017

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

Above: Biology Professor Bret Weinstein explains how he was "run off campus" by a mob of angry, stupid, History-illiterate Marxist students because he refused to vacate campus when "social justice warrior" students reversed "a day without black people" into a demand that all whites leave the campus for "a day without white people." He was accused (by a hysterical mob of uninvited SJW students who were not students of his class) of being "racist" because he sent a politely-worded email out that disagreed with their protest concept, and for attempting to teach his biology class as normal. This press conference is with him now teaching his biology students at a location off campus, due to death threats.

The book that explains, in great detail how colleges gradually lost freedom of speech, resulting in the current situation is "The Shadow University" by Harvey Silverglate. He talks about how Marcuseanism (a "post-modernist" variant of Marxist collectivism) was legitimized throughout the 1960s and 1970s by "soft-sciences" Academia, and how new posts (often called the "Office of Student Affairs") at Universities gradually expanded their own power, eventually commandeering campus police power. The prior sorry state of affairs then resulted in the current situation at Evergreen University, Berkeley, and campuses nationwide, a literal "Shadow University."

Whereas this power was once seen as "American" and owing their highest-level allegiance to the Bill of Rights, the campus police powers, like all Americans, are now so dumbed-down by inadequate government education, that they view their allegiance as being to whatever petty Marxist occupies the "office of student affairs." As a longtime libertarian ballot access petitioner, I can attest that these "campus police" are often totalitarian thugs, very willing to silence free speech, and threaten and arrest speakers, and having zero knowledge of, or caring for, the rule of the common law, or the Bill of Rights.

Please consider buying a copy of "The Shadow University" through this link, if you regularly buy books, and want more posts from me. It's a must have for any pro-freedom library: http://amzn.to/2x1ZzOT
