Alright, hey everyone, me again discussing POSH. After Twitter abruptly halted our service a few days before their initial deadline it put a little fire under our butts to figure out a solution and quicker than expected. After much thought into it I think I've come with a pretty good and reasonable plan that I'd like to share and get some feedback on. Let me first list the issues and my thoughts around it.
Problem:
The automated part of @poshtoken became completely obsolete, while this whole process may look simple on the outside, we've put quite a bit of work into it working smoothly and distributing both POSH and Hive fairly. For instance the grouping together many tweets of shares of the same post, editing them into the same comment and mentioning all the sharers who are registered with the website. Then after a day calculating their performance on Twitter to distribute the rewards after 7 days based on the performance.
It would've sucked to let all of that go and to instead have everyone manually share twitter embeds under posts they shared. At the same time this could've caused for a lot of "spam" since each comment is separate and it would've made life way harder for curators to have to curate each comment on their own of the same post rather than curate them all with one vote. Our idea to allow non-hive accounts to POSH and earn hive+posh in the form of another currency (with added fees) if they don't already have a hive account but would like to earn a little crypto for their reach. This was one of the ideas that bummed me out the most that the Twitter API put in the dirt. While many people had great ideas they put forward my way (thank you again everyone), I really wanted to figure out a way to still make this work even without the API functioning.
Spreading out POSH in an automated way based on performance. While this wasn't a big problem it was nice to have it all work in an automated way. While some people were trying to abuse it we implemented ways for us to ban the users from earning POSH and Hive rewards. Even though this problem could've easily been fixed for instance sending out the daily POSH rewards based on how @poshtoken curated the comments that day, I think this problem can also be solved like the ones above with our solution.
Alright, so this is the solution we had in mind, I'll address some of the reasons we want to go this way as it involves some other plans we've had in the future and then after mention the con involved with it.
Solution:
After careful consideration and shoutout to @nickydee who came closest with her idea to it, I think the best way forward would be to have everyone POSH'ing come to the website and easily input their twitter share there.
This would allow @poshtoken to still operate the way it used to in the past. It would register the input, who the link in the tweet belongs to, share it under the post and know who to send rewards to based on who inputted it on the website being logged in with their account. It would basically remove the need for the API and every sharer would have to manually share the link on the website each time they POSH something.
This solution would still work with non-hive accounts as long as they are signed on to the website with their Twitter or Reddit account, another input where they can choose which address to receive rewards on and everything else would be handled by the service.
We've been meaning to make the website more "visit" friendly for a while now and are currently working on revamping it. We've been thinking of things like daily login rewards, stats/achievements based on how many POSH tweets you create, how your performance is. Give people "soulbound" nft's as achievements with some passive POSH earnings, gamifying the project and actions more.
The con:
This of course means people will have to share each tweet manually. It may not be a big issue and is currently the smallest hindrance out of any solution we've thought of and it will enable quite a lot of ideas and plans we have been brewing for a while.
All in all I think this would be the best change, with added incentives to visit the website people may overcome the fact that they have to login once to share their links on there.
Anyway, let me know your thoughts behind it and if you see any other issues we may not have thought about with this solution. Any feedback is appreciated!
Thanks for reading and your continued support for POSH!
Once that's up and running, was just thinking of some kind of "share to posh" option on a frontend (peakd for example). Simple push of a button sending the details that way would be kind of fancy I guess. I dunno.
@hivetrending just shared the same idea around the same time as well, which is awesome and I didn't think of. This means less traffic for twitter and in an effort to support our posh tweets we could keep a list like we did in the past of say "recent tweets" but instead do something like "top posh tweets" which will get added there based on which comments got the biggest @poshtoken votes.
Hopefully something like that isn't too hard to plugin. If frontends do it, I recommend it be an obvious share button. Could get really fancy and become a bit of a distribution hub, in a sense. Some frontends do have those share options, but I don't know if people are using them, and PeakD's are hidden behind three clicks.
ok from the point of view of a posh user with a hive account:
The solution raised from an Engineering point of view to my thinking is quite Robust, I am trying to find details in the structure and the only thing that comes to my mind are two details, the first is technical aspect of the website to support the amount of entries of people who will share link manually because wow that will be many then if the servers support it Success :D
The second is the manual aspect that the user has to do, if it is true that as a user I was very comfortable with the previous structure, it was designed very well to facilitate sharing on twitter but doing it manually by entering the posh page seems to me a success and without any problem I would encourage me to do it, in fact I am very happy with the solution proposed and if it is manual, then it is manual :D
I'm really looking for other weak aspects in the proposed solution but it is very robust and in fact from the Posh point of view it benefits because they would not depend on Twitter and this is positive, it saves a link in the chain because they do not depend on third parties, Twitter is used as a platform to publish and the Posh page can receive the data of the shared Twitt for all the analysis and subsequent rewards of that twitt.
From the point of view of users who want to use Posh but don't have a hive account:
Here if I think there is a weakness, as you would use the Posh page for twitter shares, you may lose those potential users who are not in hive but are encouraged to posh.
A solution could be that the users in their twitt to share with the post of peakd spread the page of posh so that users on twitter when they see it, could be encouraged to enter the page of Posh.
I only leave my perception because I am not really an expert in social networks and I do not know if that could be done but I leave my humble opinion.
My point of view regarding Daily Login Rewards and acievements:
It is a very positive extra and that the previous structure did not have, therefore El Exito :D
My conclusion: I am very happy with the solutions proposed, they are very solid and offer us even more benefits, I leave you a happy cat jumping with joy
Simpler is always better and, as a process guy, I like to eliminate steps where possible. That being the case, an extra step will make it so those following the process will earn the rewards a little more of that for the extra step in the process.
Website traffic and content from different users from an seo perspective is always a good thing. I assume you have a google business profile for the page? Tweaking the key words in the mission statement and other areas to make it so that you can be found by web3 people looking for more ways to earn would be a different angle on promoting and including.
It is great that you socialize these evolutions for input from the community and roll with the punches on the integration api side of things.
Oh. Thanks for the mention!
I think I have an easier way for users to share perhaps... maybe more complicated initial set up though. I'll send more thoughts on Discord.
Maybe they'll help.
On we go. Let's make this happen 💥👍🏻
I'll try look into your idea soon! Thanks
As you go. No rush. Tons in your inbox and no need to reply. We're all busy! :D

Busy building here madly so no pressure to respond even. And thank you for the shout out. Very cool of you. W3 👍🏻
That would never have happened on Twitter ;)
Your ideas truly are genius :) ...

Hey, thanks for sharing this update on POSH and your suggested solution. I'm really impressed by the amount of time and effort you and your team have put into figuring out a way to keep POSH running despite the recent changes to the Twitter API. One thing that came to my mind is how you plan to deal with false or spammy shares now that human input is required. There might be a higher chance of people abusing the system or sharing pointless links just to earn rewards. But it's great to hear that you already have policies in place to prevent users from receiving awards in those circumstances. Thanks for keeping us in the loop!
If there's no other solution on the horizon, manually posting links seems like making things hard but for the time being will have to do
After some thought and ideas by @hivetrending and @nonameslefttouse I think best would be just a post link, the same link you'd go to twitter to share for POSH you'd instead input on the website and click the "share to twitter" button at the same time. This should make it require less effort as it doesn't ask you to also go to twitter to tweet first, + it gets twitter less traffic this way so they get some consequences of their dumb API cost changes. ^^
I find that logging in and sharing the Link directly on the Page is much neater and although it adds one more process, it also avoids just copy and paste to generate income, giving you the possibility to give reasons for what you are sharing.
One doubt I have, is there any way to make my content not shareable? For example, if I make a post and X user shares it on his Reddit or Twitter, X user does not receive rewards (neither do I) and I only receive rewards in the case that I am the one who shares the post (as author) through my pages.
I know you will say why do you want that, but there are contents that I don't want to be shared by others and although it is not a Posh problem that someone takes a link and share it, many times sharing it to earn Posh becomes an incentive.
It's a bit of a niche subject indeed that doesn't really occur often. I guess once we're done with the current focus we could look into giving the author control to null rewards generated by these shares if it involves their posts possibly by replying to the poshtoken comment with a command or something similar.
good
Adding links myself is not the worst option in the current situation, but I will still try to implement a program that would monitor my twitter account and report updates myself
Hi @acidyo, I’m glad to hear that you are working on a solution for POSH after Twitter sudden move. You had to deal with such a stressful situation and I’m grateful for your devotion to POSH and Hive... I’m curious to hear your plan and I’m happy to give you some feedback. I think POSH is a valuable initiative that helps promote Hive and its content creators on Twitter and other social media platforms. I hope you can find a way to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. Thank you for your hard work and leadership.🙌
I was actually wondering why I can't see this nice posh comments on my hive posts :D I got just to them :) Shit can happen. If API don't work than no problem for me to do this manually :) Let's Go!
copying and pasting the tweet to the website is in fact the most functional, it will require some more effort in terms of steps (the automatic bot is too convenient) but there are no alternatives. On the other hand, the possibility of obtaining free rewards is at stake, a minimum effort is required
@tipu curate
I think the idea is great, after all we already have some other sites where we put the link to the posts so that something happens.
In my opinion, copying a link and putting it somewhere manually is the least of the problems, those who want to do it will do it, those who don't, well, just watch.

Twitter is complicating things and I think that when you find a suitable solution for POSH continuation of the divulgation, we will do our best to adapt trying to support at our best the ecosystem.
If and when twitter will withdraw/change these parameters, easier solutions will be eventually found
This sounds like an awesome solution tbh: logging into a site to share a tweet seems like a very reasonable thing to make POSH working again.
Also, if this allows you to add achievements, soulbound NFTs and stuff like these, it would be great and would be a no-brainer (at least for me) to perform only one additional task to get even more rewards for my activity.
I was very sad about the APY change and the difficult time ahead of POSH, but now it looks like you took advantage of that to make POSH even better!
About the gamification aspect, did you take into consideration the idea of a collaboration with @hive.buzz? They gamified activity on Hive, while you are going to gamify activity outside Hive but done to help spread awareness about Hive, so you are basicallly completing each other from this point of view :)
Myeah but they never really did anything with nft's or you know, something fun.
Manual method sounds good for every POSH lover. In this way, each user will visit Posh website. There should be number of Posh NFTs. These NFTs will be on the performance of posh users like we have reputation option here on hive platform. For example, if X user has X Posh NFTs then X has more trust to get curation on his Twitter post shared on Posh website.
Hi @acidyo i read your post and read some of the comments and still don't understand how it works unfortunately can you explain to me like im a 15 year old just like you did with chatgpt in your tweets lol. i see some comments said link our post into twitter? i thought we are doing that but i guess i must have read it wrongly. anyway thanks in advance.
Edit: ah sorry just understood the post its still under construction so you want some feedback on it (hope im right on this one) not sure what to add but from what i see you got all figured out especially the non hivers that can earn posh with added fee section if i guess correctly is to make sure the price of posh stays stable.
Instead of like in the past sharing a hive link on twitter with the #hive tag, we may now ask people to go to hiveposh.com instead, there then add the hive link in a box with some thoughts and then hit "share on twitter". The website receives the information which gives it to @poshtoken without requiring to scan twitter through its API but users get to do the same thing with almost the same amount of moves. + it also lowers the traffic you give to twitter since u don't have to go there to share the post anymore this way.
I see that make perfect sense thank you for clarifying.
It seems this is the best chance or option we only got to keep this project running. I would love to see how things will unfold.
https://leofinance.io/threads/@seckorama/re-leothreads-hzsymaqh
The rewards earned on this comment will go directly to the people ( seckorama ) sharing the post on LeoThreads,LikeTu,dBuzz.
What I like about this solution is that the manual work will demonstrate who is committed to the project beyond just copying and pasting on Twitter, I find interesting the incentive you mention as the effort of the actions will be valued to those who comply with the processes.
@nickydee is a genius :)
I love this idea :) How about having non Hive users wait until they reach a certain amount, then withdraw in something with a low transfer fee? Those tired of waiting can make a Hive account.
I love this idea :) Maybe also do a weekly "Best of Posh"?

Aw. Thanks
More great ideas here from you.
Yep. Together we can :D
There's so much one could do here.
It's a great token, with great rewards and so much potential to grow Hive as well! Let's make it happen 👍🏻
Definitely :) !!! I've always been one to disappear from Twitter, but maybe this time I'll actually stay 😂

So, I know you have issues with that guy, and I certainly don't defend his actions, but there's a time and place for this kind of behavior, and I don't think it was here and now.
Any place where he carries himself as an innocent good guy, interacting with the community as normal, in my opinion is the time and place to leave a response to him as a bit of a "tag," to inform those who don't know and may perceive him as a benign member of the community with good intentions. This guy is everywhere physically, at all the conventions, tons of meet ups, many in real life communities globally, etc. Putting a face to the name is important. Not everyone reads 3 year old blog posts of mine from Steem, so I think it's wise (and fulfilling) to allow people to put a face to the name, especially in posts where many decent sized stake holders have replied and interacted with.
I can understand your perspective but what you don't see, is how you look, because like you said, not everyone digs to find out the whole story.
I know what you're dealing with is frustrating and I know what it's like to be the one who can see behind the mask. 100% I know how much it makes you sick.
I'm not suggesting you back down. I will suggest you refrain from drooping down to his level. You look kind of crazy as well when you simply drop something like that in a public space, then run. Perhaps it would be wise to handle things a little more professionally, and maintain your composure, otherwise you stand a chance of sabotaging your intentions, while someone like that will use it as leverage and twist things around.
Now, realize, I don't want to sit and argue with you.
Have a nice day.
Thank you, Have a great day! Namaste
?? Don't thank me. Sort out your issues. Stop pretending like it doesn't exist. I'm not falling for that fake nice guy stuff. If anything you've just pissed me off and made it personal trying to pull that stunt on me.
