I have decided that other than reading and curation, I will no longer be posting on weekends. Yeah, I have been an avid "7 days a week" Steemian for pretty much two years, but change is as good as a holiday they say as I mentioned to @porters earlier today. I have also decided to do a bit of a "round up" for "my world" on Friday's. So here it is peeps - just me and my life...
MY LIFE THIS WEEK - ON & OFF THE BLOCKCHAIN
If there was a highlight in my week it was without question my son's schools musical "Disney Production". I am still waiting for them to upload the video of his grade 4 class and their performance and ESPECIALLY his solo!!!! But in the interim, we have photos lol! And I will be sure to share the video when I get it...
I was absolutely blown away by his confidence! He is an absolute natural on stage! He told us afterwards that he was VERY nervous, but DAAAMN he didn't show it! I am also repeatedly impressed with his school in general and how an entire school of Grade one to six pupils can pull off such seamless performances!!! There are no conductors, teachers or minders guiding them on, off or through ANY OF IT and they do it like well trained soldiers!!! (I said soldiers @quillfire lol). It was very MUCH a proud mommy moment!!!! and also one filled with gratitude as I am witness to how my beautiful child and his talents are being nurtured and nourished.
I will definitely continue to live vicariously through my son hehe because I WISH I had been encouraged to pursue my musical passion too. After the performance he was requested to please join the school's vocal ensemble and so he did and was there the very next morning at 7.15 am and they are apparently practicing this version of an old classic... just another reason I love his school... because they "move with the times".
I spent much of this week and the week prior reflecting on things. Life, people - my place here and elsewhere. I shared my thoughts and opinion on all of it. One of the topics was the weak signup enticement Steemit offers to outside users, the other was my focus on the whole reputation system and then, slightly less Steem related was a post about accepting individuality.
This morning, much like most others we headed out for breakfast - well, actually more like brunch... being after midday. All Friday's are good, but this was a particularly good one, not only because my breakfast was divine and I had my first coffee in months - latté heaven! - but also because next week is the last week of school before we all get 10 days off. Some of us, like @meesterboom will be having slightly "grander" holidays in Ibiza but hey... I am just happy to not have to pack lunches and drive to school in my PJ's with everyone looking at me like I crawled out the wrong end of the woods hahahaha!!!! (and no, I don't care enough about that to put actual clothes on. lol)
Many of you know that we have a puppy and they need their nap time, so early afternoon I normally grab my laptop and move my workstation to our bed because it is the one space the little bugger will sleep soundly. Today was no different and I spent the time reading and curating from my @theluvbug account. These were a few of the REALLY cool posts I stumbled across....
Mushroom Eye Drawing In Pen
By @kaylinart
One of the reasons this post caught my attention is because A) it was illustration done in ballpoint pen which is something I have ALWAYS loved - and often considered getting back into and B) because I have always been drawn to the same kind of crazy style abstracts - especially EYES! - My lecturer always told me I had a gift for making eyes look magical... so this piece really appealed to me!

Full Speed On The Highway Of Consumerism
I discovered this young ladies blog a few months ago and let me tell you - for those of you (like me) - who like relevant, inspirational and motivational content she NEVER disappoints! I wish (and hope) more people read what she has to share!
❤❤❤
QUESTION OF THE DAY! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYTHING PARANORMAL?
I have great admiration and respect for this amazing woman, for MULTIPLE reasons - but that aside, she does this "question of the day" as a regular thing and today's question was definitely one that sparked my interest! I may not have answered in "video" (those who know me well, know I hate cameras... maybe I will work on that lol) but I did answer nonetheless and I would LOVE to read and hear some of the other answers!

Market Friday: around my childhood house, ไปเดินเล่นรอบๆแถวบ้านเก่า
By @kaminchan
I wish I had stumbled across this on earlier as it's curation period is almost up - but hopefully in future I will, as I have now followed. @dswigle is the brainchild behind "Market Friday", which is such a cool concept and to my mind, this is an exemplary example!

Trailer Review - Joker (2019)
By @morkrock
I saw the trailer not so long ago myself and have shared my opinion... but I would love to see what everyone else has to say!
Last, but not least (in my opinion anyway lol) - I have decided to re-ignite my weekly "Track of the Day" contest... so if you are still awake, reading and a music lover haha - then please DO share yours!!!! You can enter by clicking the image below...
❤ Well folks, that's a wrap for the week... CATCH YOU ALL ON THE FLIP SIDE! ❤
(That being Monday for those unfamiliar with the term hehe)
MWAH!!!! Love you all LONG TIME!
❤❤❤
Until next time...

Total respect for you @jaynie... love this post.. yes your son is very talented.. He has the looks of a star. :) resteeming :)
MWAH! Love you @rebeccabe - always have, always will.
Dang it! That will teach me to upvote before I read - if I'd known this was going to be your last post until Monday, I would've made today my "Jaynie & @zord189 100% upvote support day" (yeah, not the catchiest of titles...LMAO) instead of Sunday! 😜
Excellent idea to give yourself a break every week, and even moreso to do a round up post too. Not at all surprised Jude has amazing confidence on stage, given how natural he seems in all of his videos. No wonder you're such a proud momma!
I saw your Tweet about @prettynicevideo's post, and have it open in a tab...somewhere on my browser...LOL! I plan to take a peek shortly, and share something myself.
So happy you brought back the #trackoftheday! I have that open in another tab too, and will be sure to contribute something shortly. 😊
Hope you have an excellent and relaxing weekend! 🥂
No worries chicken licken! haha :)
Yeah, I am done writing on weekends. Oh, I also have not used my downvotes yet... have been considering showing my thoughts toward a certain comment because WHAT kind of person mocks a mothers child.... GRRRRRRRRR - Mock me all you want, but leave my child out of it....
Oh, wow! I wish I could say I'm surprised that someone would trash talk a mom like this, but sadly, I'm not. I can understand why momma bear is coming out to play!
And while I know you know this, I want to be clear to anyone else reading that I don't say things I don't mean, so if I say that Jude is amazingly talented, it's because I truly believe it, not because I'm kissing up to you or anybody else. I've recently been told privately that the enthusiasm I display in my replies & tweets is seen as "disingenuous" and an attempt to get people to like me/upvote me.
~ If I like something, I'll say it loud and clear.
~ If I don't like something, I usually just move along.
~ On the rare occasion that I really don't like something, I'll also say loud and clear.
So yeah - Jude IS the dude, and I have no doubt his talent, along with his mother's passionate support, will take him far in life. 🤗
Show me WHO!!! I will personally go give them a B**CHSLAP lol - FFS, I am really getting tired of all the shitheads talking a lot about things they know nothing about! You, like me - are honest to your detriment and I hope you never change, because this "breed" - is few and far between nowadays, but is something the world needs more than ever!!!
I love my dog.
Dogs are cool!
People suck!
haha
xoxoxoxoxo
LOL! Hubby & I say, "people suck" on a daily basis in response to a large variety of things , and any time one of our kids points out our "less than positive" outlook, we tell them, "you're welcome for the life lesson!" 😂
All joking aside, I actually do appreciate hearing from other people about how they perceive me, or what they think of my behavior. It gives me a chance to take stock, adjust my mindset (if necessary), and then
hold a grudge for the rest of my life and for a thousand lifetimes moremove on. 😊And Posh Pub is wicked cool! ❤️
waahahahahahahaha!!!! and a double waaahahahaha for "you're welcome for the life lesson!"
!giphy grin
Haaaaa, you know what... haaaaaa, I thought this was on my post and I was like why doesn't this make any sense lol OL I'm laughing so hard

ROTFLMAO! Sorry, @prettynicevideo - my bad for tagging & confusing you. Oh wait - would this count as a para(as in, beyond)-normal experience?

HAAAAAA It doesn't bother me when Im tagged. Look all the fun this brought! <3
hahahaha!!!! We all have those moments :D
Congratulations! Your post has been selected as a daily Steemit truffle! It is listed on rank 4 of all contributions awarded today. You can find the TOP DAILY TRUFFLE PICKS HERE.
I upvoted your contribution because to my mind your post is at least 3 SBD worth and should receive 186 votes. It's now up to the lovely Steemit community to make this come true.

Thank you :) Always nice when your efforts are appreciated xxx
I've been meaning to come here since Gina pinged. At least one day off is really good. You need it. And even if this rough time has taught you that, I am glad. I have been a believer that weekends are sacred. Until other things in my life changed. Now, I take them when I can. And enjoy them. You more than deserve time out and not just a pat on the back. A pedestal. We won't do that though, I'd not want you to fall off after too much wine LOL.
As for Jude: I am so pleased. He's come such a long way since this time a year ago.
And remember: you got my number!
So true! I am actually leaning towards (trying) to put out two posts on weekdays as well if I find the time because then I will only post Monday, Wednesday and Friday but its 6 posts for the week either way, but it gives me those days inbetween to focus on other things whether it is Steem related or not. I pretty much did that last week and I found it worked really well.
HAHAHAHA!!! You know I would!
xoxoxo
Any mother will be soooooooo proud looking at their child or children on stage!
I am so impressed by Jude too. So much talent. So much courage. Gene from you I guess.
It is good to take some time off the blockchain for RL. And back onto it again full charged.
Sending you love. ❤️
Thank you sweetie! And yes I really enjoyed the weekend without the "obligatory feeling"
Awwww thanks for the shout out lady guy!!!! You rock!!

Pleasure :) and I will ignore my confusion for the "lady guy" term hahahahahahaha....cough
@jaynie,
I left a comment/entry in your Track of the Day contest just prior to reading this post. Apropos.
Tell your young man that courage is not the absence of fear, it's how one comports oneself in spite of it.
Jaynie, I've noticed a theme throughout your most recent posts. The trick in life is not learning lessons ... the trick is not learning the wrong ones. Be careful not lose your ability to believe in humanity. Assholes have been around since time immemorial and they define the periphery ... don't let them define the core.
DM anytime you need to offload.
Quill
I love you @quillfire! - and thank you... because NOBODY EVER ASKS ME if I might need to offload ;) Nobody cares about people who are strong - "they can handle it all right?!" lol. I am not big on disclosure though, truth be told. but I think you have read enough of my life through my blog to know that I don't let things, people or situations ruin my heart - what I "put out" is simply my own way of processing, accepting and moving on. Shit son, if I allowed trauma to stunt me, I would be a fncking stone statue by now haha ;)
This would probably be more appropriate on my #trackoftheday post, but because our convo there revolved around lyrics with this interaction combined... I will just drop this here...
and as my mom always told me... listen to the WORDS! hehe
@jaynie,
I'd never heard that song before. I really like it. "We're just catching and releasing" ... what an incredible metaphor for "just going through the motions." I wish I'd thought of that one too. :-)
Darling, I love you too. This place can make one feel insane and knowing that others are similarly afflicted ... one's only elixir.
Quill
too true!
Glad you enjoyed the tune Quill xxx
@jaynie,
Here's another song with gorgeous lyrics ... lyrics which we all need to sing from time to time. And, as with most lyrics, they are best sung in chorus. Never forget you have friends.
Quill
You just can't pay enough for a school that teaches self esteem and pride like that. They looks so good!
Seven days for so long and I had to give in to something, especially after working full time plus some days. There is only so much one can do. I love curating, but, one does run out of voting power eventually.
I hate the strong woman term, or at least what is implied. On the other side o my family, I don't need help, sympathy or a shoulder to lean on because, frankly, I am strong. Seems the world will come banging at your door for the most trivial of things, including hurt feelings. (Really???) But, honestly, I have to ask myself, when was the last time I was asked...
Yes. Exactly.
I can actually remember one of my inlaws telling someone to give something to me (it was some research they needed doing) because I liked doing that. Hello? Seriously? I do it because it needs to get done.
Find your person. Usually not related to you. I have. It is a Godsend. You need to talk. I am not an open person or one who likes talking about myself. I have nothing to hide, just my personality.
I hope you find peace in your life. Have a great weekend!
!tip.20
I love proud mommie moments... the best. You know I'm not sure if I caught video of it but if I did I'll be sure to have you see it somehow. And about posting commas sometimes you just gotta relax. It's hard not to do things every single day like me I'm fighting. Lol. But she got a set some time for yourself.

Absolutely right and it feels good! :)
As for the mommy moments.... yeah, nothing beats them!
Oh I feel your pain about school lunches and pajamas. I've bought lunchables for lunches this week, just because they're soooo easy, and since I work from home, slippers are a constant. Thankfully I don't need to get out of the car when I need to drop the boys off, but I'm not above embarrasing them either!
hahahaha!!! The other day I could not find my blusher and so I used a lipstick.... as I drew these two large pink circles on my cheeks Jude walked into the room (we were leaving to drop him at a friends party)... he sees me and says "mom what is that on your face?!" so I replied, I making my face a clown face my love" - to which he replied, "WHY?!" and I said "to embarrass you at your party" hehehehehehe... he was less than impressed lol, but I could not contain my laughter for very long LOL
How wonderful that your son is having his talent nurtured and he seems to be a natural! Lucky for you, too, that you can live vicariously through your son!
I like your new style of your weeks wrap up and some extra curation for your finds on the blockchain!
Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it @porters :)
Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Taking a break on the weekends sounds like a great idea. Sounds like you could use some rejuvenation. Thanks for all you do for the Steem community.
Can’t wait to see the video of your son’s solo. So cool that he rocked it!
Me and the rest of the world too haha :)
And thank YOU for the appreciation hon xxx
Have a super weekend!
@judethedude was absolutely awesome on stage - so proud of him xx
He sure was :)
A very proud moment indeed! It sounds like the school your son is going to is on top of its game.
Having taught for 30 years, working with special needs students taught me one very profound thing. Kids don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care! It sounds like the educators at your son's school care very much.
Have a wonderful day @jaynie
They certainly are @thebigsweed! And not sure if you noticed in the photos... but every single class has one or two special needs kids in it... this has been wonderful for Jude as he has grown up with compassion and understanding for their differences rather than the usual outcome where kids can be quite cruel.
Compassion and understanding is something that comes from parents more so than school. You should give yourself a big pat on the back for raising such a great kid, @jaynie.

But so does Mummy ;p
So much in this one post <33
hehehe so true! Love my little cutie pie!
As for the mommy swag...hmmmm not so sure! HAHAHA
Got plenty of swag ...
And doubles with your favourite pair of boots for sure ;p
I think trying post 7 days a week is over rated anyways. Far too many burn out and seem in this endless state of “I need content now to post.” For me around 2 or 3 times a week is that sweet spot. I have a list of what I’m going be creating content around and it will be taking till the end of the year at least to get through it. It also always growing which is peace of mind for me.
It also means I get to have commenting days or I can go focus on something else related to my content. Since I know I don’t need to get anything out that day. The journey is just going be far too long to run endlessly ragged. Those days will come now its a great time to go for a light jog.
Yeah I am beginning to share the same sentiment - I just cant anymore and it is sucking the enjoyment out of the entire thing which defeats the purpose of being here in the first place :)
I'm lucky if I get 2-3 good posts out a week, so I am in awe that you managed to crank out 7 for so long! Definitely time for a well-deserved break. Can Jude get any more awesome?? I'm sure he will continue to grow into the kind, passionate, intelligent young man he is meant to be, so thanks for sharing these little moments so we can watch along from the sidelines and cheer him (and you) on!
hahaha yeah my time of that is done! lol As for my little monkey... I could just squeeze him to death lol! and yes, I have no doubt that he will retain all his beautiful qualities! :)
