I live in Utah.
Historically, the state has has huge problems with polygamy. I really don't have a problem with monogamous same-sex marriage. Polygamist clans, however, become problematic.

Utah provides an interesting study in polygamy. You might look up Warren Jeffs, the FLDS, The Kingston Clan. There are many other fundamentalist groups. Many of them have very dark histories.
The clans usually start with a group that feels compelled to redefine marriage. The first generation feel that they created something liberating. Later generations end up being treated like sex toys.
I don't know if that will happen with monogamous same sex unions. The bad things seem to happen when polygamy enters the picture.

What is the result of allowing same-sex marriage? Let me take a wild guess... Same-sex marriage will happen? Did I get it right?
Are they forcing you to marry same-sex? Do you fear that if allowed you will marry same-sex by accident someday?

It has nothing to do with indoctrination. The "oh look, since they started talking about it more people came out as gay" is a total fallacy.
There was always almost the same number of left-handed people, but in the past, it was considered wrong to write with your left hand. Since people started talking about it and destigmatizing they lost their fear of assuming they write with their left hand. The result is that initially, the number grew because statistically there have always been left-handed people, but the number stabilized because it started to reflect the reality.
Teaching about sexuality and removing the stigma against LGBT++ whatever (lost count of all the genders) will not make people go gay, it will just allow them to express themselves without fear. Exactly like it happened with being left-handed. With time the chart will stabilize and start to reflect the reality. That is what happens when anything stops being taboo.
