Why should it be any more controversial than an incubator, if used as intended? A baby who is putting the mother and or itself in danger could be removed, and put in the artificial uterus. As could one who may require multiple surgeries.

With the way technological advancement is going, I think a project such as Ectolife has a great chance of success.
Thank you @funshee. I take things day-by-day right now and am noticing progress as the pain lessens. I didn't realize how weak I got until I started doing the prescribed exercises after surgery.
I also think Ectolife has a great chance of success. It's just a matter of willpower and funding.

I know that you will still have struggles to endure but I am super proud of your courage and determination. As for Ectogenesis and Ectolife? Whilst I can see where there could be benefits to parents who are unable to conceive, using such a facility when one is quite capable of bearing children naturally is like falling down a very slippery slope. I think the grey areas are too large and the ethical boundaries too tenuous at this stage. One of the things that stands out for me is the loss of connection and emotional and human warmth that a baby should feel in the womb. I appreciate that things have progressed far with AI, but perhaps there are some areas that it should not dare to tread. Some places where it should not have the capacity to go head-to-head with God.
What can I say, thank you for your kind words. I am on the way to getting better, but the road appears to be very long. Just last night I ended up in the emergency room because of complications from my diabetes medication. The doctor appeared to attribute my nausea and dizziness to an old heart problem so I felt it was in my best interest to get out of there. When all their tests came out negative I just packed up and headed home for the night.
For now, I move forward until I'm balanced again. I'll have to work with my primary doctor to get the right dosages for my meds. Now that I've lost so much weight what I was taking before clearly is too strong for me now.
Ectogenesis is definitely a slippery slope. I feel that science will continue to test that slope right up until they're ready to start growing human embryos. Scientists, I believe, will first attempt to grow smaller animals like mice from conception until full-term birth before they attempt it with humans. It would make the best sense and allow the scientific community to debate the issue.
I think that's a good approach - review your dosages as a starting point; see what your doc has to say. Remember what they say... put on your own oxygen mask first 🤗😘So look after YOU, my friend... and then you can use what energy remains to look after everyone else.
