The Hidden You

Do you realize that there is an inner you?

It's like a Systems Administrator

A you who never sleeps. A you who runs every system in your physiological makeup. That means all the intricacies of every organ and every system.

Systems include vascular, respiratory, lymph, alimentary, renal, nervous and endocrine.

Each organ is complex in itself and there are many chemical reactions, production orders which are fulfilled by other organs and glands.

Factors like blood pressure, volume and heart rate. Which enzymes are required to digest specific food, body temperature control, identification and reaction to foreign bodies.

The complexity of running a organism such as ours is truly beyond our imagination as we still have much to learn about our systems and how they work.

We do not even comprehend consciousness, its origin, or its true nature, at all.

Yet we each have this incredibly capable inner self which is knowledgeable enough to be adept at optimizing our lives within the parameters our conscious selves provide through our choices on what we do and eat.

It knows much we do not.

If I asked you to list all the number plates of vehicles you passed in traffic yesterday, those which were in you unobscured visual range that is, you would not be able to provide the list. Yet under hypnosis, you could indeed provide the list.

You can decide to awaken at a specific time in the morning and without looking at a clock before retiring, you could waken at exactly the right time.

You can put complex problems to your 'subconscious mind' and it will solve them overnight and you will suddenly have the answers.

It seems to know things we could not.

Somethings our inner selves come up with things we could not possibly know and we therefore have to ask ourselves if we are connected to intellect outside of our bodies, and we are. But that is a subject for another day.

We can program our inner selves

'As a man thinks, so is he.' is a biblical verse, and we find it in most motivation self-help books today.

A very important discovery in connection with this statement is that the subconscious mind, does not distinguish much, if at all, between things you direct at yourself and things you direct at others. A consequence is that negativity directed at others is taken as aimed at yourself, and this means that what you dish out, you get back.

There is every reason therefore, to seek out the good things in others and praise them, as your inner self will take such praise as being aimed at you.

This also means that you can train your inner self to believe beneficial things about yourself which will increase your performance in every field of endeavour as self confidence is such a phenomenal force in achievement.

So if we are prepared to embrace our inner self, in terms of the things we have learned about ourselves through religious teachings, which have since been corroborated by empirical scientific research, and program ourselves for success through selecting positive, kind, gentle, patient, long-suffering, gracious thoughts about ourselves and others, we can radically influence our future success or failure in every endeavour.

very interesting addition to the #psychology section of steemit. Good work @gravition

I agree 100% with you and I think I still need to do a lot of training of my own brain.

We seem in large measure to miss the fact that scripture study, prayer and obedience to Gospel principles through faithful action are the best methods of training the mind.

Really interesting thank you ! Especially liked the bit about how any negativity directed outwards is really assimilated within ourselves. Made me think. upvoted and followed :) I'm new to Steem & have just written my first Steemit blog post on self growth/psychology/self sabotaging so if you're interested in this subject I'd love your opinion, feel free to take a look, thanks :) xx

Hi Ella - I'm also new! I just followed you :)

Excellent article. It makes you think. Thank you.

Very nice post i like it

Yes. I totally agree with you @graviton. There is a part of the brain which records everything. But it is just our untrained body and mind which cannot retrieve it.
Wiki has nice interesting topics

Lovely post, you really made my day with this post. You need to work on yourself to explore the inner you.
Thanks for sharing

I think there is some interesting material on self organisation that suggests the kind of conventional hidden self is an (understandable) illusion. Interestingly Buddhist psychology would suggest the same, the notion of an 'I' whilst subjectively experienced is an organising function rather than an identity.

Tough topic!

Excellent article. After I did a lot of meditation and yoga, I try some shamanic rituals with bufo and Ayahuasca. And the result are terryfying wonderful. For the first time in my life I had a humbling experience.
