Take a look at some of the responses to the 12 indictments against Russians trying to interfere with our elections.
Sen. Mark Warner, D-VA | “If they don’t make the indictments a priority in the meeting in Helsinki, then the summit should be canceled." |
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY | "Cancel the Putin meeting. Now." |
Sen. Ron Wyden, D-OR | "In light of what's been revealed about Russia’s attack on our democracy, the president shaking Putin's hand would be a moment of historic cowardice. Call off this summit" |
Sen. Jack Reed, D-RI | “immediately cancel his meeting.” |
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-CA | “President Trump must demand and secure a real, concrete and comprehensive agreement that the Russians will cease their ongoing attacks on our democracy,” |
Sen. John McCain, R-AZ | "President Trump must be willing to confront Putin from a position of strength & demonstrate there will be a price to pay for his ongoing aggression. If President Trump is not prepared to hold Putin accountable, the HelsinkiSummit should not move forward." |
Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ | "Trump should cancel the meeting or make it an open meeting, confronting Putin on his aggression & taking measures to hold them accountable," |
Before talking about the hypocrisy in these statements, think about what all these people have in common. None of them support President Trump. The argument could be made that most of them would rather see damage to the country than to see President Trump succeed. The only reason they are making these statements is self-aggrandizement. To get their name in the media. The other thing they all have in common is they have never been president, and hopefully never will, to be faced with this kind of decision.
Now the hypocrisy. Where were these people when President Obama sent $350,000 and aides to Israel to try to impact their election. This attempt to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was carried out in full view of all these individuals. None of them made comments similar to these, where was their outrage then?
These so called leaders in our government act as if this is the first time one government has ever tried to influence the outcome of another country's elections, more hypocrisy. An article from the LA Times, The U.S. is no stranger to interfering in the elections of other countries, gives a view into election meddling by the U.S. going back to 1946. But these leaders would probably explain that it's good when we do it to other countries but bad when someone tries to do it to the U.S.
And what really came out of this horrendous meddling by Russia into our election? During the press conference announcing the indictments, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein made the comment "There is no allegation that the conspiracy changed the vote count or affected any election result.". In other words, any Russian interference had no impact on our election. The most important thing that came out of the Russian efforts was the release of DNC emails showing the DNC conspired with the Clinton campaign to rig the Democratic primary. Maybe it's the truth coming out that really has these Democrats outraged over Russian interference.
Thinking about the Russian's possibly interfering with U.S. elections. Does it really make sense the Russians would support a candidate running on the slogan of "Make America Great Again"? I can't imagine why the Russians would support a candidate promising to bring the U.S. back to full strength as a world leader. My opinion is that it would make more sense for the Russians to back a party supporting more socialist views, a party like the Democratic Party. But the Clintons had dealings with the Russians that made them millions of dollars, maybe one of those deals left Putin with a grudge against Hillary.
I understand every person has his or her right to voice their views, opinions and thoughts- hence freedom of speech
But when I was watching the Strozk open testimony the other day, I was appalled at, I think it may have been Representative Karen Bass (D) who was degrading, name-calling and spouting off all other negative comments and words about President Trump... I had had enough. These people who we elected to run our country are acting like a bunch of kindergarteners on the playground without supervision. They (Congress, House of Reps, Hollywood, etc) want to disagree for nothing more than disagreeing or as you stated...
Maybe we need to go back in time, to the days when congress was first formed and the members were working class farmers, ordinary people with jobs and careers that contributed to the country's advancement and NOT being career politicians as they are now. These Congressman of yester-year would work the fields, brought in the crops, mucked out the horse barns THEN headed to Washington only a few times per year to work on business... they didn't LIVE off the political ways and pay. THEY (the old-time Congressman) had other jobs.. being a politician was an added job or second job; not the main source of income.
Maybe Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Ted Cruz and all the other career politicians out there need to NOT get paid for their political career, take on a real job in the real world and then we'll see how much they supposedly love America or how they'll fight for our civil rights. Work a second job.. like the rest of us... work from paycheck to paycheck.. then we'll talk Mr and Mrs. Congress...
And all the finger pointing? As I tell my 55-year old husband when he starts spouting off silliness and rambling about ignorant things... grow up... think before you speak.
The dems want to abolish ICE? Well A republican congressman told them during a Congressional session this past week to write up a bill in regards to abolishing it... (call the bluff, so to speak) and you know what happened? The Dem congressman backed down. Yeah... grow a pair dude In public you say this.. in private you do that.
I couldn't agree with you more. Politics was not intended to be a full time job originally and we should go back to that. Even during the presidential primaries the childishness was coming out. Trump wasn't my first choice for the nomination but by the end of the primaries I really didn't have a good choice, they all acted like children.
Then came the presidential election and the choice was between a candidate I thought was too brash and arrogant, but that I thought might do a decent job, and a second candidate that I thought should already be behind bars.
Now after watching President Trump, I like his tough style of doing business but do wish he would back off twitter a bit.
Didn't mean to ramble on in my previous comment.. but yeah... I just get so tired of the run-about way these politicians rule.
In a few weeks we are voting in our primary in my state (a blue state that Trump won) and I'll tell you this... the Democratic senator running here in this state probably wouldn't even get past the primary; except she is the only democrat running for senator.
She didn't attend the inauguration, she has voted against EVERY single Trump nomination.. she has basically taken her shovel and started digging her own grave on January 20, 2017.
I hope you live in Missouri, I would love to see Claire McCaskill sent home. These democratic senators following Schumer are making a huge mistake. Not to mention the Democrat voters that are continuing to nominate more and more liberal candidates to run when the country is swinging back toward values that are more right of center.
Nope.. the other Blue State turned Red... Michigan
I've traveled a lot of Michigan and spent way too much time in Detroit. I prefer the west side over by Lake Michigan. I've met a lot of great people from there.
I very strongly agree with ousting the career politicians. Someone who has been there, done that is a much better candidate.
And they wonder why nothing changes?!
It's a vicious cycle they have created. Keep voting me in and things will stay the same mentality.
I live in the Midwest and when the jobs went south my husband lost his job. He was unemployed for almost two years; there was nothing here in this state. Had to move out of state to find work. Came back here seven years ago and now he is on 7 days a week, 12 hour days. yeah.. I think Trump is making the economy better
Since November 2016, we have been able to buy a new truck.. have a savings account again and actually NOT live paycheck to paycheck and I have been able to stay home and work here.
Change is good...
Amen to that!
Glad everything has turned around....from a midwestern lady herself.
I'm from Russia and I would like to say a few words on this subject too.
This whole story about Russia interfering with U.S. elections is simply ridiculous LOL Russia is simply not powerful or rich enough to make any significant influence on the outcome of the U.S. elections. Also, why would we do that? It is not like President Trump doing anything good for Russia. Quite the opposite, he introduced new sanctions. If anything he made things even worse for Russia. For Russians, supporting Trump would be a pointless crime so to speak.
I think this story has nothing to do with Russia. It is all about Democrats whining about lost elections. I wonder if they are going to ever stop whining about that. This joke gets less and less funny each passing year.
My friend you are absolutely correct. Russia supporting makes no sense and it is all about the Democrats whining. They will not stop until they win the presidency back, it would take a great deal of luck but hopefully that will not be before 2032 if ever.
Couldn't agree more with you.
And no.. they will never stop whining.. they are like a dog with a bone.. they will keep a-hold of it until their last breath.
I always come here for a good dose of reality.
And, I don't need to worry about disagreeing.
I will just add that I had, I hate to admit, voted Democrat when I wad blinded, so I apologize to Presidemt Trump for helping to create this mess. Lol
Glad you came to your senses.
