I've never actually tried accupuncture, to be honest the idea scares me a bit. I don't like needles.
I have CPTSD from abuse and I've been healing it with EFT (Tapping Therapy). It helps me a lot and does wonders on rewiring those brainwashed part of my brain and healing the trauma caused by the abuse. I've also done some meditation therapy, a technique called Mind Calm and Mind Detox, which reduced my rage significantly and panic attacks and emotional flashback attacks from 3 a day to 5 a month.
I know that PTSD from abuse is different than PTSD for veterans, but a lot of the symptoms are similar if not the same. I would definitely suggest EFT and Mind Detox to anyone with PTSD/CPTSD. It healed my depression and I am determined to heal all the rest.
Acupuncture is a great way to deal with all sorts of PTSD. I deal with combat-related PTSD (very mild) but work stress-related PTSD is as bad, if not worse.
There is a form of acupuncture that has been brought in from Mongolia that has helped many women (and men) with abuse-related PTSD.
If you are hesitant to try it, please realize that the acupuncturist (like a doctor) is dedicated to helping you. The needles don't really hurt at all. You can just feel them go in. They can also massage and give you natural Chinese herbs if you don't want to get stuck. Needles are just 1/4 of Oriental Medicine.
Cool, thanks. I'll keep that in mind :)
