On Steemit, we can (hopefully) leave behind all the false selves and shallow identities so prevalent on other social network sites. And we can establish and develop a grand community of souls who can find, be, and express their genuine, "authentic" identities. We should strive for nothing less.
Regarding your scorn for greed, I could not agree more. The way I see it, greed always fails.
And in fact, we can even say that greed IS failure. If someone has attained anything through greed and selfishness, we can honestly declare that he has failed. (Of course, that is not to say that attaining wealth or prizes or glory or anything of the sort is necessarily the result of greed, or in any way wrong.)
(p.s. In my long, ongoing search for my "authentic" self, the one great thing I did was stop smoking. I have, however, kept drinking, albeit in moderation. For good reason.)

You really get into the heavy topics, I was taken aback. Creating something valuable that must exist, man I have a ways to go. This definitely isn't about what I can get but instead what I can give back, more people need to know this message, and realize that by taking and not creating- the supply will start to dwindle.
If we don't provide the it, then Steemit doesn't have value. DAMN. Your video(s) left a lot for me to think about, but I'm glad to see that being myself and aiming to help others is a good way of starting.

I am learing every day more then a mount and 1/2 since I become active on here. Thank you for that inspiration. Researching and writing my A.I. series was as much a spiritual journey as it was an intellectual one, and this point you're making here was ultimately a large part of the conclusion I arrived at and has informed every major decision I've made since then. Steemit solved the problem of giving value to people thanks to the curation system. As more and more are becoming full time blogger on our platform =).
The only threat I think could be dealing with the inflation and the rewarding system itself which creates infinite money.

And in order for people to get completely free, and to change the course of where we are headed right now, it is absolutely essential that you figure out what your core gift is. What you can provide. What value you have inside, what you can give to the world. Because without that, we are just a bunch of sheep.
Exactly! The society we have grown up in has forced us into these ideal shells that make us conceal our authentic selves from the rest of the world. We were taught to love conformity and fear difference and change. I really do believe that a lot of our problems in terms of interpersonal relationships could be fixed so easily if we became a society that embraced our authentic selves instead of hiding that part of us away. That's part of why I write my blog Friendship In a New Age on here, to re-popularize the true idea of friendship, in which being your vulnerable, authentic self is key.

Lately, I've found that I've been asking more and more of my friends, more often, what their passions in life are. I encourage them to go do those things that they are passionate about and truly live in the bliss of pursuing their passions in life. It is the passionate people who have come alive that will lead us into the brighter future that we all hope for.

I am not super intelligent, I don't understand technology very well, I can't create bots or other techy stuff, what I do is be real with people. I love to listen to people and allow them a safe place to explore who they really are and give them the gift of (imaginary) permission that they seek to be who they can be, without worrying about the status quo of things or modern trends, and hopefully they realize that they don't actually need permission to be themselves after all!
