The entire thing is a mess. I personally have NO idea what's up with all this, except one thing I do know about humans. Humans ALWAYS want to be a part of a club. Identity and being social are just what we are about.
Now, as a person moves higher and higher up the social ladder, they accumulate more money or fame or influence. After a while a person needs to connect to other like-minded folks to "prop" up the system or network of connections required to be a "success" in this world.
So, what I am getting at is that as the circles of the elite become smaller and smaller and more and more powerful, the ties that bind them together get weirder and weirder.
Think about it, if you are wanting to be rich or famous or both and get mixed up in the social circle of the Mexican's president's son, and want to stay there with the elites, then you have to play the game.
So WHY do they do this?
My opinion. These folks are truly the outliers of this world. They are the 1% of the 1% of this world, and they WANT and NEED to stay that powerful. So they end up getting each other into compromising situations to essentially hold each other hostage in case a celebrity or someone wants to act out or speak out against them.
It is commonly believed in the US that the "skull and bones" fraternity at Yale where George Bush II and John Kerry and others were a part of essentially makes them do something weird sexually and it is recorded by the other members of the group.
Why? To hold as "evidence" against that person later on if they decided to speak out against the others. Now take that level of cooperation to the presidential level and then yes, a pattern will emerge.
It is exactly the same in political parties, fraternities, sports teams etc. There is an inherent need for belonging.
Yeah but WHY kids and sex and stuff. My opinion, again is that by doing the most absolute most horrible thing to another person, and doing it in a group setting, makes ALL of them complicit in the act and therefore serves as a (pun intended) bond between all of these sick people. It is the most extreme thing a person can do to another. It is probably one of the most embarrassing thing an elitist can be caught doing.
It's that "edge", that "danger" that I personally think they enjoy most.
Why?
Because none of them lead normal lives. They don't work normal jobs. They don't have normal problems. THEY are actually the weirdos and outliers in our society, but for some reason because they have money that allows this stuff to happen.
I personally know it's a disease of the mind to participate in this stuff. It is gross. It needs to go away, but we have to really, really get to an understanding of how and why these things occur to really address it.
I have thought about this for many years and was a social worker for ten years so I have seen some very, very nasty people and have had to learn why things like this happen.
There is a reason. Thanks for your patience.
That is an excellent analysis and the thrill seeking aspect is something that is overlooked. Following you now.
