I was just so proud of myself today. I had an amazing run. After having been hospitalized last week and learning of a heart condition (it currently will not affect my running), today's 5K time really lifted my spirits. It was moderately hot outside but mostly pretty pleasant. My breathing quality was great. I used to run consistently in the 8 min range so this is a step in the right direction. I ran along the Mississippi river, that yes, does reach all the way up here to Minnesota.
The trail along the river was georgous & mostly shaded.
My overall time was 27:36 which is a far cry from my cross country days a decade ago (regularly running 21 & 22 minute 5ks then.) I wasn't exerting maximal effort but it wouldn't have been too much faster today. Again, I was just thrilled to be running sub 9 min pace throughout.
Afterwards, I did 100 meters of lunge walks that I was feeling! My boyfriend was along with me and he did a run/ walk during the time I was running. He then also did 25 lunge walks. We then meandered a little and I got some good shots of the St Cloud hydro that is very sustainable.
It was a beautiful day & there were people out fishing.
The water was so serene looking.
Thanks for visiting my post. Stay healthy and happy running my steem runner friends!

You will get fully recovered soon! Keep on running mate!
Thanks & absolutely. I'm addicted to running =)
Congratulations, glad you had a good run. I love the photographs of where you were running, that's one of the things I really enjoy about @runningproject, seeing all the amazing places!
Thanks! I agree it's definitely cool getting to see all the different places across the globe where our Steem runners are putting in the miles (or kilometers)
You are so strong. I tell myself everyday that I would go for a jog but I rarely stick to that plan.
You are strong.
Sending love and light your way.
Thanks very much. Take good care of yourself and get out there. Start slow.
Will do!!!!
Well done! I thought I would do a little HIIT training, just something real easy. I did three short laps, run up a little hill and across the flat, then walk down the hill back to my start point. I did that for about a week and crippled myself... lol! The strain at the back of my ankles running up that little hill wracked me for a couple weeks. I want to encourage you to STAY in shape, because trying to get BACK in shape about wiped me out! 😜
Thanks for the encouragement and good for you for working on your fitness. Hope your ankles are feeling better. =)
Interesting! My wife ran her last 5k a week ago within 5 seconds of your finishing time! That’s a pretty good pace and congrats to you :)
Sounds like she & I might be good running partners then =)
Congrats to her
