This is my second half marathon in an official race. Last half marathon that I ran was 2 hours, 6 minutes, so my personal best is improved by 8 minutes.
Even though I run regularly and build the endurance in the last couple of years, I'm not in my fittest form lately. You just can not out-run a bad diet, so before the race my original plan is just stick to 06:00 pace/kms.
Once we started the race the first 5k fely very easy even though I was running in my threshold level. Kept that 5k pace (almost) and 10k was gone. Between 10k and 15k was also similar, but between 15-21k was not my best. This is mostly because of my gained weights (+10 kgs last year), and my urge to skip long runs.guilty!, though, I've managed the keep the pace around 05:50, and don't drop to 06:00 levels much.
At the end of the day, I ran the Amsterdam half marathon sub2 hours, and I'm pretty happy about it. I should fix my diet and train better, then this numbers will improve faster, for sure!

Isn't 168 avg a bit high? Seems you're pushing yourself.
You push yourself in the race days. 4/5 trainings are in easy pace/ easy HR.
Interesting, so you run accordingly to a weekly plan.
sometimes yes, sometimes I just run for my mental needs. However most of the running plans recommends %80 of your trainings in easy pace, comfy speed. %20 is the speedwork.

.Congratulations, I have never run such a long marathon in my life. 21 km is quite long. I participated in a 5 km marathon a few years ago but I don't think I was as successful as you. I hope you will improve your record next year.
