Good article my friend. Didn't know before a drawback behind making of wind turbine before

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, we see these things springing up all over the place and unfortunately we just take them for granted!

Good post. I like windmills, but almost none of the "greenies" understand just what it takes to actually build them. They're like, "Close all the mines! Build solar and wind!"
Check out this post on Thorium.. We're on a similar wavelength I think...

Thanks for the reply.

It is so typical of humans to "Jump on the bandwagon" without much thought to consequences.
I will read the Thorium piece for sure!

I've been building windmills on the east coast of canada... Salt air is fantastic for maintenance workers' job security!

Haha! No doubt! The salt must play havoc with them!

Thanks for the resteem, my friend!

Every time there is a proposal to build a new Hydro power scheme (which can provide massive reliable renewable energy) the greenies protest and blockade the site.
Fair enough, there is an environmental down side to building dams.
However, when there is a proposal to build a hideous wildlife slaughtering unreliable and uneconomic taxpayer subsidised wind whirligig farm the greenies attack anyone that dares oppose it.
Luddites! Big Oil Stooges! Nimbys!

There is a place for environmentalists, but they are going way too far and have now become a blockage to prosperity for many countries!
Thanks!

The whole socieo-economic structure needs to be scrapped. It's all still the corporate model, wind, nuclear, whatever. Success means becoming the mega monopoly Rockefeller. Gotta go...

Thanks. I agree. we need a new paradigm. The old one is totally unfair to 98% of humans.

Thanks guy. Awesome.

Yes! You make some very good points! Unfortunately, the governments of the world, when they purchase wind turbines, insist on sticking to this outdated and inefficient design. I will admit that I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but a far better option is the VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine) which to begin with, eliminates or massively reduces the need for an enormous base. The housing for the generator itself doubles as the base, at or just below ground level. The shaft emerges from this vertically, with the blade assembly... Hang on, it's almost 1:30 am. I will post a response briefly addressing the advantages of a VAWT design over a HAWT (Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine) which is the type you have addressed, and see if I can figure out how to tag you in it... Still a bit new to this

Yes. When I was researching this article there were many designs.
I chose the horizontal type because they are what most people are familiar with.

Wow. I am thrilled to hear this. What a great day to be alive!

been saying that for years. I used to be employed by BP and Green Mountain Energy and that was a big fiasco. Climate Change in not real and Corpses cause Climate Change (no joke)
Thanks @thomasaquinasftw for resteeming this posts because I otherwise would not have seen it.

Thanks, my friend!
I think the world is starting to wake up to all the frauds going on in industry and government. It is good to see. Because inevitably we are the one that pay the price for all this crap!

yeah it's crazy the psychology that's used on the masses. I personally know a climatologist that states there isnt enough data to accurately prove that the climate is changing because of humans. He says the scientific model points to natural climate changes during the course of Earth's lifetime. and "they" say you can't argue with science lol

Of course, I agree the climate of the Earth is changing and it has been changing since our planet has had a climate.
But I do not agree that CO2 and humans are the main cause of it.
I see these Greeny people making an awful lot of money on the fears they instill in the population.
I am sure the poorest people on this planet don't give a damn about climate change. They are just doing their best to stay alive and keep their families fed.

Although nuclear energy is the future, specially fusion, this technology is delayed more and more due to technical problems, and we cannot wait anymore.

Wind energy, unlike nuclear energy does not generate heat neither consume water for cooling. Unlike solar energy does not decrease albedo (reflected sunlight)

According to a 2011 study requested by UK Parliament, large wind turbines are the second energy generation technology with lower CO2 footprint, only river hydro has lower impact: http://www.parliament.uk/documents/post/postpn_383-carbon-footprint-electricity-generation.pdf

Nice. Thanks for the input.
I will read this when I get the chance!
But with all studies one must take them with a grain of salt.
