RE: Radioactivity

do you ask this all the time? i am in no way being malicious here. this is an honest question. all i had to do is right click and click, see image info, to get all the citation i needed. is this not enough? i'm serious. not kidding or sarcastic. i've wondered about this for a while. what do you think about leaving images in comments? should those be cited as well? again, very seriously. i try to cite everything that i did not create myself. i know that on occasion i forget. i do try.

Sort:

Yes I ask this all the time. No that is not sufficient. Clearly present your citations. Yes images in comments should also be cited. I forget sometimes as well, its easy to do. This sort of thing isn't an issue for sites like reddit where money isn't involved. However here money is involved, and lawsuits (unwarrented or not) can get thrown about much more easily. We need to try to do what we can to avoid this, not just for our own accounts but for the platform as a whole.

Going around asking for this is not fun for me, and it just makes people angry at me which I also don't like. However I feel it is necessary, and so I keep doing it. I am not trying to be a jerk, I am just trying to do what I feel is best.

whatever floats your boat. there is a difference between profit and donation. this platform is going down anyway and it is not for lack of citations. it is for a misunderstanding of what value is and what it isn't. also because of the whales using multiple accounts to funnel huge amounts of money out of the platform. #notallwhales it is crazy, just today, i've seen over a quarter of a million dollars transferred to an account with 25 reputation, no post no followers and no followed, and then transferred to polonex in pieces. no, nothing sketchy about that. let's all make sure and cite the pics we get from the public domain.

just because you FEEL something is best does not mean you are not being a jerk, trying or not. i know this because i am a jerk. i try, at least, to not be a tedious jerk. the world needs jerks, sometimes.

don't you get bored running around making sure people clean up after themselves? i hope it pays well. heck knows creating content and citing images doesn't pay. i hope steemit survives, but i don't think it's in the cards.

i'm not trying to get up your nose. i could be out of practice on my tact. how about, once a month, spend some time not being citation enforcer, and go look around for some of the real, actual problems here.

P.S. please don't flag me for being honest. not that you would, i'm just saying, because i never know.
