This question may have popped up in the hearts of many: “Are there advanced civilizations that are many light years ahead of us?”
Let’s start like this. This earth has only been in existence for about 4.6billion years, but our galaxy (the Milky Way) is over 10billion years old. So how do we think there are no civilizations out there that are way older than ours?
Considering the advancement that has happened in our planet in these years of existence, how much more will the advancements of a far older ET planet be? It is no doubt that the sun is being orbited by planets and nano-planets, some of which are way older than the earth. At least, scientists have been able to catalogue many of them.
A recently discovered nano-planet, according to scientist, is earthlike. And scientists believe that this planet houses advanced alien tech. And they have mechanisms that make them eavesdrop on our electromagnetic communication (according to Prof. Geoffry Marcy; Astronomer).
This could sound fictional. But this inspiration was drawn from the latest discovery made about how many potential “Earths” could exist in reality. Before now, we don’t really know much about other planets apart from the ones in our solar system. But that has really changed. The galaxy we dwell in; with over 200billion stars is filled with many earth-sized planets which have been proven to be habitable, and could have the potentials of springing out primitive lives.
So, looking out for the possibility of ET may not be weird after all. Scientists have been positioning the radio telescope in the skies for years in search for ETs. But it seems it wasn’t much of a success, until a better new tech emerged. This tech involves laser beams. This consists of a solo frequency of light. These laser communications are used to replace the radio telescope, and have been proven to be effective in the search for ETs.
It is believed that these advanced Ets will be communicating with their kinds, and the only way to eavesdrop into their communication is through the use of laser communication. The very superior feature about laser is; they can be tremendously high frequency; blue light, ultraviolent light. So you can send a very high bandwidth of data (over 1,000,000,000,000bits/second). Now that is amazingly huge.
But the question is;
With all these laser communications, optical telescope, radio wave telescope, infrared telescope, has scientists been able to pinpoint an advanced ET colony?
Well, this question is a really dicey one. What if they don’t want us to locate them? What if they have a tech to shield them from us? But I won’t have you ignorant of this fact:
With the numbers of galaxies we have and the billions of planets, it will be rather myopic to think that only the earth has life.
That being said; if we think that we’re all alone in this vast space, then it will really make us feel lonely.
If there are ETs and they’re planning to contact us, I just hope they’ll come in peace (that’s if they’ve not already contacted us, and the information is being shielded from us).

What if we are the first truly advanced civilization? I don't doubt that there is other intelligent life out there but what if they are at similar or lesser levels of scientific development many light years away? Maybe we can't detect them yet. I dunno. I truly hope we are not alone in this vast universe. It seems a statistical improbability that we are.
Expecting superior intelligence to arrive is laziness on our part. We want someone who has done all the work and will just provide us with help. It doesn't work that way. At least not till our own technology is sufficiently advanced. I'll be expecting more of something from avatar. We'll most likely be the visitors.
I really hope we're not alone too. But I also have a weird thought though. What if the entirety of our galaxy is just a little science project for a kid alien somewhere in another galaxy? :)
This one weak me.
The issue isnt really one of if life exists in other galaxies or not, humanity will never be able to leave its local cluster, a collection of galaxies of which includes the milky way and andromeda, that severly cutsour chances by a whole lot.
Then again, the vastness of space is often times underated, space is really big, really really big and empty. The chances of meeting a life on another planet is astronomically low, the chances of meeting intelligent life should be tending towards 0.
Thats not to say they do not exist, but even if humans had 1000 years to find anything, theres a very good chance we would find nothing.
Another problem is time and speed.
We all know looking at lights in the sky actually tell a story, a story from the past, since light takes time to transverser through space./
If welook and find a civilization, chances are theve either moved out, died off, or ssomething else.
Who knows, maybe an intelligent civilization is currently looking at the light from earth ages past now, he probably is seeing a very primitive homo erectus or something.
Well said bro. And also, there is a possibility of an infinite number of universe (or multiverse as the case may be). That could explain why we haven't been able to pinpoint an ET colony
If ET's have advanced civilisations, then I would think they are also advanced in the evolution of the beings they are - having a higher frequency, closer to enlightenment. Because of that, I don't think we have anything to be afraid of. Because higher frequency means higher awareness of how we are all different expressions of the same oneness, the same source. And destroying each other always means destroying a part of ourselves. I just don't think there are ET's around foolish enough to attempt that :)
Lol. That sounds humorous though :)
UFO...I saw an alien yesterday :)
Lol. Could it be me? :)
Lol. It's possible :)
Great article!
I think with the sheer number of planets out there, the chances of us being alone are very slim. I don't think there's been any sort of traffic between our civilizations and of course there's no way of knowing how far along they are compared to us. But I no longer think it's far-fetched to suggest there's something out there. The question is what?
I don't think it's simply a loneliness issue. If we ARE alone, then that's a good thing in many ways. That eliminates the fear of a more advanced civilization than ours. I just don't think it's something nature is capable of. I can't imagine that nature would only create ONE intelligent species in this WHOLE galaxy...much less the universe.
For anyone to think that we humans are the only intelligent life form in this Universe is nothing less than sheer human arrogance. Until such time comes that humans learn to look after their ONLY home, and repair totally that which we have destroyed we do NOT have the right to enter into the Universe to desecrate and spread the human mindset that has polluted this once beautiful planet. Until human kind fully understands, they should be confined in quorintine to planet earth and ONLY planet earth...............billytwohearts
