The odd thing is, for years people have told there are no laws for anyone fishing from shore or as a hobby in a boat. Commercial laws yes, but anyone can fish and keep anything they catch in the sea without a licence, unlike North America. Also no restrictions on sizes or what's in season. In Canada we are limited to the amount, size and season, even our methods are controlled, on top of the licence which really is just a tax and you get card to keep with you.
