When I lived in Idaho I captured a rattle snake and brought it back home arranging a large glass aquarium for it. Nine months went past without the rattle snake eating despite buying mice. At about the 9th month it struck the mouse and devoured it with its unhinged jaws. That was spectacular watching. When I left Idaho I took the snake back out into the desert along the Snake River and released it. Neat experience.

Interesting experience, how long did you have it altogether.
Pet shop mice don't smell like wild mice... therefore no feeding response from a wild captured specimens initially.
Had it for a year. Nine months went by before it finally ate the the mouse from the pet shop. Should have let the mouse run around in the wild for awhile.
