RE: The increase in meaningless spam comments here on the platform has become somewhat remarkable!

You are right, however if we are talking about comments sometimes people just want to appreciate someones work by writing "good post", "nice post" etc. It's just an opinion of this person and should not br considered as spam. Of course people are writing comments like this to make people go on their profile, but it's decentralized platform and I'm fine with that, just vote up better comments to make good content more visible. Before "sspaaameer" comments - no, I don't act like that and you can check it. This is just my way to act on meaningless comments.

Sort:

I don't downvote "good post" and "nice post" type stuff. It is mostly meaningless, though, because I have often followed up and asked "What did you like about the post?" and inevitably receive no reply.

Okay, so you mean persons who don't even read article and comment just for advertising their profile. That's shame I thing and in fact it's more bad for them than good. They actually are making problems for community and themselves too...

But isn't that what upvoting is for, showing your apreciation for a post, without cluttering the comment section with value less stuff? Maybe we could use a kind of official "Steemit Rules Of Conduct Guide"? And then if they can make it into some very smart platform, violation of these rules of conduct have some authomatic consequences like limited payout,... ? Just an idea though
