Bidding bots are very addictive and some owners of these bots are playing a smart game due to value down and high rent ,
What is happening here at the end of bids, some smart ass Ids come and sudden send beyond the limit bids and destroy your ROI .
Thanks to the bid-bots, manual curation of the posts have gone down. People instead of curating content themselves have now started delegating SP to bid-bots/booster and are Now making easy money out of them.
Spammers
People acting like bots, copying and pasting the comments. Using plagiarized photos and content and using bots to promote their shit.
Whale Orgies
Whales busy in upvoting other whales content. They are very similar to minnow orgies, usually, I myself upvote most of the content from my friends. But whale orgies leads to an unfair distribution of rewards which again is a problem.
Flag Wars
We cannot take sides and show our disagreement towards some whale as it might trigger flag wars. That's the reason not many users are standing against the abusers of this platform.
Why no one is trying to fix the issues?
The answer is simple. The true meaning of decentralisation is whoever is linked to the community has the power to take initiatives, whether the initiatives are towards abusing or fighting the abuse.
Abusing the platform generates money, so uniting people to rape reward pool is easier than uniting people to fix things voluntarily.
Moreover, the vision of Steem Blockchain is completely different, and they are trying to achieve something bigger than what organisations like Facebook, Youtube, Tripadvisor etc combined have achieved.
I believe abuse figherters need to turn on their duty and survive this heaven And big power holders like @freedom @dang @blocktrades has to think about it that if there is no profibility in taking steem power how peoples are collecting money for them and whales responsibility is to give responsible and good rate to good writers instead of powering up whales.
I have complete list of monster whales but i do not want to point out every one , Here is the duty of whales to look after the activities of the person whom they delegate their power for money. Infact money is not every thing we should stand togather and try stop steem abuse. @ned @pharism
If there will be no reaction against this steem system, this will be just another time consuming, "lot of talk and no doers" system where everyone had to fake system to make a buck. Doesn't sound too good
That's why Steemit will never become a true competitor to Facebook.
People with lots of money can easily make more money while people with no money struggle.
Human nature brings more greedy people than helping people.
Good content loses visibility very quick.
Subscription numbers mean nothing when people don't use Steemit.
And there's no incentive for the people who can do / decide something to change it because they already get more money.
EDIT:
I appreciate the work you do with your manual voting instead of automation. A fair amount of the bots gave a negative ROI the last couple hours and I think your voting is better (except when the market crashes but that happens...)
But yeah Steem feels like a cow where only the strongest and most reckless people can milk it. And no changes in sight...
Good article thanks
Keren
I feel your concern for the platform, I haven't been here for long but I think I've heard info like this from other friends. I was however given the advice to mingle with others to gain visibility since the platform is also a social media site.

Appreciated you @lays for pointing out serious issues on steemit.
Hey @ned @pharism, just do some investment in steem as it will go really down again to 1$. Do something for us please!
Yeah, you bring up some great points! People's brains are wired to see numbers and it feels like you have to invest in your own posts via bots to attract people to your site and then who knows if they will even upvote or comment. As a new user here (under 2 months) I can see that there are what you call whale orgies and a bunch of other people kind of begging to either get a donation or upvote. It's hard to think this is what the vison of the platform was intended for. However, it seems like the natural way the world works...the rich help each other out and the poor try to appeal to the rich for help.
I don't do any other social media other than steemit so for me its just fun making posts and trying to build an audience. I believe in the use case for this blockchain and want to do my best to add quality content and hopefully share some of what I have to offer to others and have a positive impact on their life.
Thank you for your post!
