RE: El nombre de Venezuela no es de Vespucio ni es Pequeña Venecia. (Historia)

in #spanish7 years ago

I could translate a bit... But I am not too interested in LIES... It says the name of Venezuela did not come from Italian "Venezziola" (which is the truth and what they teach us at school), but from some Amerindian name "Beneci-uela"... It makes no sense, because more than a century before any evidence of that, the geat Italian sailor, Amerigo Vespucci (who also named the whole of the two continents, by the way from his own name) named us after a collection of houses he found on a lake, which reminded him of Venezzia (Venice). It is recorded, it is what he told the Catholic Monarchs Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, and it is how things went... Not some socialist-communist propaganda piece, which is what this is, nothing more. Blessings to you.
