RE: $54,240+ To Be #1 on Splinterlands Chaos Legion Leaderboard

No, it is not worth it in my opinion. This is still a game and people - normal people - just want to play it and gain a little money from it during this period. For normies, this is all too much and will repell them over time. Two of my friends, who liked the gameplay and bought spellbooks after I told them about Splinterlands didn't play much after the first nerf. They don't understand the mechanics behind it and they shouldn' have to understand them.

I am curious how the anti-bot changes are going to impact the number of new long-term players the game is able to attract. It sounds like the devs only want people to join who are going to spend $1000 buying cards right away and I think that is a very small population. They need to find a way to attract and keep casual users who will eventually put more money into the ecosystem... but those people may not stick around long enough to get hooked if their rewards are nerfed in the beginning. !PIZZA

At this point it really is an investing game more than a game, you play for fun and that is a pity, because I really love the idea and the gameplay. But it is, what it is. We have to adapt and "not be salty" to cite one of the founders, I guess. I'll continue to play and invest heavily over time, because this is an addictive game, but I do that conscious of the fact, I will be in the minority of new-ish players and in the bear market many new players will hop off this train as well. We are in the bull-bubble, that is what people forget.

I couldn't agree with you more! I've been dumping money into cards with a very high rental ROI and plan to keep doing that for a while. With the spike in rental prices around the end of seasons, I'm getting over 15% monthly returns.
