# The season of the Rock Lobster - Splinter Stats Season 49 Report Card

in #splinterstats4 years ago (edited)

@aussieninja

Hello hello!

It's been a little bit since I was so excited about a new card... but I totally threw in some credits to max out the brand new Lobstradamus card! I think I did it surprisingly intelligently. I spent $28 USD on buying up 45 (I won one in the air drop) around the $0.60-$0.70 mark (if I remember correctly) and now the cheapest full set available is $47.90.

Anyway, I wasn't in it for the profits, but because this card fits my water deck so well.

I don't have a large Splinterlands collection, and so for most Splinters I've only maxed out one summoner. For Water it's good old (literally) Alric Stormbringer... and so the cards that I've maxed out in Water are all magic cards. The cards I'd normally put at the front of my deck when using the water splinter were Kelp Initiate and the Ice Pixie if it was low mana and Prismatic Energy for high mana.

With Shield, Reflect and Thorns the Lobstradamus card fits the tank spot in my water deck so much better. So excited!

I honestly didn't think I was going to be able to squeeze into Champion III - and managed to just get there with 4 or 5 hours to spare. It's definitely getting tough out there and I'm not super sure what the solution is.

I decided yesterday that I need to be spending my DEC on buying up the Legendary Summoners. I've already got Chanseus the Great and the Scarred Llama Mage to max, and have got Mimosa Nightshade up to Level 2 - she's my next target to max. I think this is where my deck is most lacking. Not having a max Yodin Zaku is a huge Achilles heel for my collection... but he's so so so expensive. Each card is around $40 right now (and I assume that's only going to get more expensive as time goes on).

It's absolutely no surprise that the season where Alric was my main man that 3 of my most used top 4 cards are my water magic cards. Medusa and Ruler of the Seas are definitely my favourite water cards... or at least they were until the Rock Lobster came to play.

Whoooo! 100% win rate on no rules?!? Hahaha, that's not a real stat. Very surprised with the Aim True 80% win rate. I'm not even super sure what that ruleset is... I'm guessing it's the one where Ranged and Melee always hit. No idea why I do okay there.

Lost Magic is so exciting when it pops up. I essentially go Chanseus the Great, the Sheildbearer and all the armours! It makes for a much longer game... and I usually win by attrition.

So pumped to win a legendary in my end of season loot chests. It was just the Spirit Druid Grog which is about $2.47... but I'll definitely take it!!!

Check out @kiokizz's other Splinterlands report for the Rewards Cards : https://kiokizz.github.io/Splinterlands/rewardCards.html - the Spirit Shaman is 99.79% printed. I've maxed this guy out because of this report, and he's surprisingly useful, especially in the Heavy Hitters ruleset. Sometimes I even chuck him in the first position to tank it up.

Also! I'm absolutely loving Brawls. My clan has gone up to a Level 3 Arena and it's absolutely smashed us... the competition is super intense... I actually got 0 wins and 4 losses in the last brawl.. and we're getting fewer crowns now than we were... but that's okay, just means we need to step up and figure it out. I'm really enjoying hanging with my guild... which I never honestly had much reason to before. They've always been great, but I was always just on my own merry little quest up the championships.

I'm still not doing any events. I dabbled a while ago and did terribly so haven't really been back.

I might have to look into Lobstradamus..

Only 75?!? Sheesh... I'm so happy I've already maxed mine out.

Spirit druid grog is handy for mid-mana Llama Cube matches. If the only card you expect/want to survive is a well-fed cube, resurrecting a monster who's already died means an extra health point at the end. Just got to make sure SDG isn't first to die.

That's so smart Matt! I never would have considered that as a strategy!

I think I just figured something out... in the scenario you mentioned, if you were playing Noxious Fumes, you'd have to keep the Spirit Druid Grog down the back of the deck because the Poison works from the start to the end of your deck... so if you had the Furious Chicken ahead of it then it would die first... then be resurrected just before the Spirit Druid Grog goes down itself. I can't really see any other way to prevent it dying first...

Remember Llama gives +2 to life, so SDG's only dying from poison in round 2. Just need to make sure somebody else dies from battle + poison in the first round, or earlier in round 2.

Totally... I was thinking that the Furious Chicken would also get the +2, so you'd have to be very careful with placement... but I totally forgot about your opponents attacks, so you could really put anything that you wouldn't expect to last the first round and you'd be sweet.

I like Lobstradamus as well. No where near your deck and experience (bronze/silver barely) but I think it will become a very important card for the water splinter.

Yeah, I don't think it's a total game changer, but I'm definitely using it in more water splinter battles than not... and honestly it looks great!
