No, I don't actually think they should change anything about SPS governance. It is what it is. All I really meant to say is that I think the proposals have increased the infighting. It's also increased the frequency with which significant changes are made, and it's my opinion that these changes coming so quickly are part of the reason players have been dropping like flies. I can't prove that, of course, and I could certainly be wrong.
Also, FWIW, I never actually said I'd prefer a voting system where everyone gets one vote. Not when people can create as many anonymous accounts as they want. All I meant is that there are some people with so much SPS that they can make or break a proposal and I meant to compare that to how large corporations have lobbyists to help create laws that benefit their interests. I didn't mean to imply that a single ultra-wealthy person has more than one vote in an actual election. I meant to imply that people with enough assets in the game might care more about what happens to the value of their assets than they care about how the plebs feel about the changes. I can't say I blame them. That also is what it is.
There is no easy answer. On the surface, I'd probably support a change to the system where proposals were all compiled sort of like bills are and the voting was spread out a little more. The rate with which proposals have been introduced and the rate with which they've produced changes in the way the game operates has been dizzying from my perspective. But we'd have the same problem as political bills. They'd be so long that no one would even be able the read them and no one would know what they're really voting for or against.
I agree with most of what you said. I do think the consequences of our DAO has led to frustration. On the other hand I also think many people have focused harder on owning SPS so they have a voice too. So there's pros and cons of course.
As I said earlier, I believe part of this is us as a community getting used to it. Some day I think people will regret selling their SPS, when they realize how important it is to making the changes they feel are important. But for now, I think you are right that many fight the system and don't like when rules are changed - especially if those rule changes negatively affect them.
I appreciate the feedback and apologize if I mischaracterized any of your thoughts on the matter.
