In this case, however, since DEC will be burned to purchase the Time Crystals, the "cash cow" is to the benefit of SPS holders like yourself. Also, there will be other ways to earn Time Crystals and/or to reduce the upgrade time within the game.

I've just never liked the concept, ever since I had a horrific experience with Clash of Clans which I tried out on a work iPad a few years back thinking it might be like good old Command and Conquer, how wrong I was, the pay to survive mechanism gave me a bad taste, so I don't like it even it does benefit me!
I get what you're saying since I don't love the mechanic either in traditional games but I look at this as a business expense since land is producing sellable goods for real money.
In business, paying more for higher productivity is normal as I'm sure you know. And I think its great that the payment each business makes goes directly to the community. That, to me, is brilliant. Overall I think each land owner is a business owner and we need to weigh the pros and cons of investing more at any given time based on market conditions.
Personally I see that last proposal as just gambling rather than anything to with productivity.
hey, but it has another problem. we don't know yet how much of what can be produced in what time. but just roughly to the problem. let's say the normal state is so slow that you are practically forced to buy these crystals. then you already have a minimum price what the manufactured item must cost. not only that it is then somehow like a price manipulation from the system. it could also be that the product must be so expensive in the end. that normal players can no longer afford it, if they need this item every day to have fun in the game. because actually the demand and the supply determines the price. but by the crystal is already a minimum price (assuming the normal state would be so slow that it is unplayable without the crystal).@yabapmatt
