Warm greetings from here, great steeming family it hurts me to actually realize that a lot of my African brothers are going through nothing far from hell in another man's country. I felt heart broken storming on this picture, I feel very depressed and indeed not too happy about the perceived conditions some of our brothers and sisters are going through in a foreign country, all in the name of "I want to travel abroad ".
So this whole ideology gets me worried and thinking, what's it with this travel-abroad syndrome? I mean you take a look at the above image, these are full fledged Africans not just sleeping in the streets but living in the streets, under adverse weather conditions making themselves vulnerable to Ill-health. This is just not nice, I can't imagine myself lying directly facing the sun talkless of sleeping under the sun. I am so not cool with this, why! WHY MUST IT BE BLACK!!
Most of us if not all of us, should be aware of the inhumane fate that happened in Libya to some of the black community that tried to migrate to Europe illegally but we're captured. You need to see the bloody footages from the Libya events, a lot of blacks did not make it alive. They were highly tortured to the extent that it caught the international awareness.
But then, so much risk? for one to probably SUCEEDED, and then finally end up sleeping in the streets. It makes me really wonder if the move is worth taking? Even some of those who decide to migrate to a foreign country legally as well get into the space of uneven fate. What could be the major cause of this? Why would one want to leave his or her country without having a clearly defined plan on how to survive and make ends meet.
I see this to be the highest form of ignorance, and this must be tackled. It is very true that in advanced countries, there are great provisions of amenities and infrastructures which are necessary for a good living, and for this reason, we all want to be there since these features could be lacking in their home countries thus, individuals don't mind giving up everything including thier lives to ensure they leave the country, but then that doesn't mean or guarantee anybodys success. We all live in a world were somehow we are responsible for what happens to us.
What hurts me most is that basically some individuals who want to make this movements don't even know where they are going I.e the economic status, unemployment and employment rate of the country or even the relative stock exchange with thier home country, they just just believe that a foreign country will be favourable and then they soar into the sky with the ideology that the African man can survive at any given conditions and at last they end up this way.
This is where the TRAVEL ABROAD SYNDROME has infected the individual, you might then ask, what can be done to resolve this mentality?
Clearly, I must state that it is not a wrong thing to travel out of one's homeland country to a foreign one, but then traveling out should have a defined purpose, e.g tourism, events, or even seeking residence and trust me all these are not bad ideas, but then they only become a negation when there is no defined plan in action to make sure every demand, requirements and neccesities are tackled.
Imagine a man selling his entire plot of land that he inherited from his father (the only valuable asset he posses) just to be able to relocate to a foreign destination. That's a good plan to relocate from a e.g third world country to a more civilized nation. But then, after he has landed in the foreign land and probably paid some necceary bills, you might want to ask, how we he continue to foot bills in the years ahead especially when he's unemployed and probably the land-sale money has depleted. Surely if he can't come up with a good answer on this he's going to get stuck.
Most people 🤔 think that living abroad is so sweet, well that's true, it's indeed very sweet but only sweet when you have the money and resources.
Anything apart from this is lies, sincerely I've not been abroad before though, but I have friends presently there and we communicate. My friend will always say "Nigeria is blessed" and he will always give his reason. For a country like Canada were he presently lives, there is so much fun and benefits to living in an advanced country. There is steady provision of electricity, water and all the basic amenities you ever know are available, but then you will only be surprised when you here of how taxes are being paid over there.
A lot go homeless because of this issue and once any individual has gone homeless because of not being able to foot bills, they see that individual as threat, since it's possibilities of crime will increase and as such they go on to treat that individual especially the blacks as the threat he or she is. Some end up being deported after a long while.
So this becomes the discussion for the day, so far, how have this countries been a greener pasture to us?
I can't imagine starving in my home country, that will only be a curse. That's because your home is always your home, if it's so bad one can always run to the villa were eba, loyloy, and oha soup is always abundant *smiles..
I hope I am making some sense, believe it or not it is better to be a destitute in your own kingdom than be it in another and this is because no matter how it seems like your at the extreme, your people will never allow your case to go beyond repair and this is simple wisdom. So if you have an option to build your country and another man's country, which will you choose?
At this point I'll simply spell out that all those who leave thier nations to another is doing nothing but help develop the other nation. Yes! Thats very true, right from the time you picked up your visa and paid plane tickets, you've already started developing the other nation the more.
CAN ANYTHING BE DONE?
Yes, something can actually be done and that is sketching out our projectiles. For instance traveling to a foreign country takes more than getting diplomatic credits, it also entails personal engagement strategies that should be secured as well as certain sensitive notations that must be checked.
Traveling or planning to travel, one should have checked or done some researches on that particular destination. E.g rate of unemployment status, taxes and bills, cost and expenditures, general standard of living. You might also consider to check for the amount of people from your home country who reside in that particular destination or country.
For instance, for a person like me, I wouldn't want to be in a country were it will be hard to find people that hail from my home country, thus: I might not consider a country having a very low population ratio of Nigerians residing there, rather I'll choose a country with a reasonable Nigerian population.
Finally and the most important of them all, your job or your chances of getting a job. This is more important than you can imagine since this is what will sustain you and get you going, paying bills and running your day to day activities. The worst scenario that can ever happen to anyone is when your family in your home country is proud of you thinking that you are excelling, while you're simply a street beggar, begging to make ends meet.
Funny enough, some of them will still claim to be excelling while in reality there dying slowly.
May God bring greatness and maximum development to our country and the entire African continent much more soon. Amen. I hope you learned from this content, do well to

This is a well thought out piece. I pray those already infected with the abroad syndrom will have some sense today.
Lol, indeed great steemian @mrfelix I hope it brings some sense of awareness. Thanks for the time here. Steemon!
Nigerians, they won't learn. Things aren't that bad in Nigeria, but they make look terrible. If everybody runs away, who would build the nation. The advanced country where they run to, their youths didn't run away, they built their country without help.
Very true @vwovwe I simply will not expect a fast pace of development in the country if everyone plans to leave. There has to be a change of mindset. For instance, nobody wants to pay taxes here in the country, even when they can, but when they go outside the homeland they wont think twice foot thier responsible bills, they will pay with all their heart. Though the government still has a big role to play, but they won't play that role untill we fight for a change for development and not running away. Steemon!
