Now, it's only comments and resteems close, but votes are left open.

comments don't really close after payout, do they?

    Comments have their own independent payout time.
    i've gotta run out the door for work right now...will get better explanation tonight :)

      So, my understanding is that when a comment is created, it starts it's own 7 day payout period. Then they are similar to posts (after closed) that they can accept votes and replies, but wont garner any more payout.

      ah i see... that makes sense, comments seem to be treated like posts on the blockchain. Thanks!
