THIS POST IS PART OF AN ELIMINATION GAME – DO NOT REPLY TO IT UNLESS YOU ARE PLAYING
Which way to go? Let's see who went where and how it worked out for them.
DAY 5 ROUND 2 RESULTS
OPTION 1 - Try to climb uphill.
Some of the players chose to climb uphill. After a bit, their legs began to hurt, but they pressed on. The vegetation was lush and the air was cool.
As they got higher up, they became more visible. There on a nearby ridge, someone was checking the area.
Just looking for something or someone to unload on, eventually their scope found the players.
For two player teams, once the first player was shot, the other one took off, but they were not fast enough.
The Players who chose Option 1 have now been eliminated. Thanks so much for playing and please consider joining back in next season.
OPTION 2 – Try to head downhill.
A lot of players chose to head down hill, hoping to find a stream, pond, or some animals. They are still continuing down the slope now, alive and well.
The players who chose Option 2 have now progressed to the next round.
OPTION 3
It looks like no players chose this option.
DAY 6 ROUND 1 SCENARIO
As the remaining players continue downhill, they notice a small valley with a field. It just so happens that they see some cattle in that field.
The closest one is about 100 feet away and walking the other way. Two others are a little farther back. A beast like this could mean a good meal and perhaps even some to spare. However, these are very large animals.
Thankfully, they seem to be wild now, as they most likely escaped from whatever farmer used to have them. Can the players successfully harvest one of these bovine? Could they be killed without a gun?
OPTIONS
In this round multiple options exist. Everyone, regardless of weapons, will at least be able to choose to try to kill one of these animals if they want. For players attempting to shoot one of them, you must also reply with the number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk. If you are willing to risk firing 2 rounds with your rifle and you kill it on the first shot, then you will only use 1 round. However, if you needed to fire 3 shots to successfully drop it, then you would be out 2 rounds of ammunition and the animal would have escaped. Also, make sure to specify your type of gun.
For teams, both players can attempt to fire together at the same animal, or at different ones, or only one player can fire. This will be your choice. If players on the same team are choosing different options or shots (like if one player is aiming for a head shot and another for a vital organ shot simultaneously on the same cow) they can reply to separate option comments.
OPTION 1 - Do not attempt to kill the cows.
OPTION 2 – Try to kill the nearest cow with a knife. (For players with a knife.)
OPTION 3 – Try to kill the nearest cow with a rock.
OPTION 4 – Attempt vital organ shot(s) on the nearest cow, which is walking away. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
OPTION 5 – Attempt vital organ shot(s) on the cow lying down. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
OPTION 6 – Attempt head shot(s) on the cow lying down. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
OPTION 7 – Attempt head shot(s) on the cow grazing. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
OPTION 8 – Attempt vital organ shot(s) on the cow grazing. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITY
All players who have signed up and want to play must reply to this post with 24 hours in order to avoid elimination and continue gameplay. All players must reply to my option comment below, not to this post. I will reply to my own posts with the options each in their own comments, and the players must reply to whichever comment has the option that they wish to choose.
IMPORTANT: The Backup Food Supplies are in one ration portions, which can feed one player and keep them alive for two days. Also, if for some reason you decide to change your choice prior to the 24 hour response time cutofff, please contact @novaatebatman to make sure you are registered under the correct option.
Also, please remember to include your inventory in your reply. Example:
I have gas, a magnesium firestarter, a PLANT FIELD GUIDE and a pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition. I must eat by the end of Day 6. I choose Option 4 this round, risking up to 6 rounds of ammunition with my pistol.
As always, please remember that all outcomes are predetermined. In an elimination survival game, most of your are going to die eventually. Nothing personal.
PRIZE POOL
The current prize pool is 400 SBD. The total prize pool amount will grow each round until the game is over.
A Special Thanks to @liberty-minded for Providing the Title Gif and the GAME OVER Gif. And a Special Thanks to @novaatebatman for all the help keeping track of this mess.
Until next time…

THESE POSTS ARE THE MOST LABOR-INTENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING ONES THAT I MAKE. OTHER POSTS ARE EASY TO PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME, BUT THESE ARE MORE DIFFICULT. I WILL BE TRAVELLING AND HAVING ADVENTURES A LOT TOMORROW, SO THE NEXT POST WILL BE A FEW HOURS LATER THAN NORMAL. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
Enjoy Mama Pepper and the Little Peppers and adventures! We will have to just pace the floor a few hours longer waiting for the next post...
(Not really. I'm going to be finishing a stone wall and will look forward to reading after dinner.)
Oops. I should have checked here before I called. We were worried something might have happened.
OPTION 5 – Attempt vital organ shot(s) on the cow lying down. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
I have a shotgun with 5 rounds, a backup food supply, and water purification tablets. I need to eat by the end of day 6. I choose option 5 I put 2 rounds through the cow's heart and lungs at the same time. @heatherlg89 takes the head shot on the same cow. It's a pretty long distance for a pistol and a shotgun but I think this is a better option than just shooting a cow in the ass......... EDIT I don't how to contact @novaatebatman but @heatherlg89 and I would like to change to option 1. Leave the cows alone and go away.
The easiest way to contact someone is to go and comment on one of their recent blog posts.
Contact me on Discord at NovaAteBatman#8448 or comment on one of my recent blog posts to contact me. :)
Ok I am not on Discord yet and I didn't want to hijack one of your unrelated posts . Thanks I guess you got the message then? We want to choose option 1 @heatherlg89 and I will leave the cows alone. Thanks for all the work you put into this game!
I don't mind if you hijack an unrelated post for STEEM-POCALYPSE related inquiries. If you still don't like that idea, you can comment on a Play-Along-Pocalypse post because technically they are related to STEEM-POCALYPSE.
Yes, I did get the comment reply from @heatherlg89. I almost missed it, but I'm glad I didn't.
I already changed your choices on the spreadsheet.
Thank you guys very much for contacting me about it. :)
No problem! I love this game, and while it's fun to play, I'm really loving record keeping for it. :D
Team Florida Crackers chooses option #5
Both @resistancemedic and @liberty-minded pop off three pistol rounds to kill the cow lying down as quickly and humanely as possible.
@resistancemedic has a Plant Field Guide, a flashlight, a bottle of gas and a pistol with 5 to 7 rounds (depends how many it takes to kill the cow)
@liberty-minded has a Plant Field Guide, a flashlight, a bottle of gas and a pistol with 5 to 7 rounds (depends how many it takes to kill the cow)
We both must eat by the end of Day 6
Were gonna go with option 5
@Bmjman2410 is going to use his rifle for this task and is willing to use all 6 rounds if necessary. I'm hoping going for center mass will compensate for my possible lack of aim. @lokii will be anxiously waiting to cheer him on : P

So @lokii will be selecting option 1 for himself and you're picking option 5 and using all 6 rounds of ammo?
I apologize for not responding sooner, but yes. I thought I only had to give multiple option choices if we were both going to be shooting the same or different animals. I apologize for the misunderstanding and will try to be more keen in the future.
It's not necessary for you to say @lokii was choosing Option 1. I just waned to make absolutely sure that I understood what @lokii was doing, as I hadn't seen a post from him when I left this comment.
Just trying to make sure I get everyone's choices right. Especially when there are so many options and variables involved in this one.
I got ya. I appreciate you taking the time to verify. We appreciate all you are doing for steampocalypse. Much respect.
I try to make sure I get everything recorded properly. I don't want to make an error that causes someone their run in the current season.
Thank you very much! I care very much about this game and love being able to contribute to it.
I have a knife, a flashlight and rifle with 6 rounds of ammunition. I have to eat prior to the end of Day 6 in order to avoid starvation. I choose Option 5 this round. I will use my rifle and am willing to risk 6 rounds of ammunition.
Option 5--I have a KNIFE, a PISTOL WITH 8 ROUNDS OF AMMO, WATER PURIFICATION TABLETS, and a PLANT FIELD GUIDE. I choose to shoot up to 6 rounds of ammo at the cow.
I would prefer to not shoot the cows at all, but I need to eat by the end of Day 6, and I can't count on there being another opportunity for food next round.
I have a backup food supply, a magnesium fire starter, a rifle with 6 rounds of ammunition, and a "Plant Field Guide." I choose Option 5 and I'll shoot 2 times with my rifle.
CUTOFF
OPTION 1 - Do not attempt to kill the cows.
I have knife, a water purification tablet , a PLANT FIELD GUIDE and a pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition. I must eat by the end of Day 6. I choose Option 1 in this round.
I have a knife and a flashlight. I need to eat by the end of day 6. I choose option 1.
Usually, a lot of people have an image of a cow as a gentle creature just grazing on grass. I'm sensing these cows might be more aggressive than most people think.
http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/inkfish/2016/02/02/how-not-to-get-killed-by-a-cow/
Besides, I'm also sensing an Oregon Trail type situation here where even if I was able to kill a cow, I would only be able to carry a few extra pounds of meat for eating later.
I have a pistol, 8 rounds of ammunition, and 2 backup food supplies. have to eat prior to the end of Day 6 in order to avoid starvation. I choose option 1. Dont kill.
I have a pistol with 8 rounds of ammo, 2 backup food supplies, water purification tablets, and a plant field guide. I need to eat by the end of Day 6 to avoid starvation. I choose option 1 this round.
I'm going with option 1, no need to harm these cows right now. Though I do need to eat by end of d6r2

We do need to eat before the end of day 6 to avoid starvation.
Maybe we'll find a river soon, with lots of little bugs? It's a risk, but I gotta take it. @tbnfl4sun, might make a different choice.@tbnfl4sun has
a knife, a pistol with 8 rounds of ammo, and a flashlight.
@livingwaters has
a pistol with 8 rounds of ammo and water purification tablets.
I choose
OPTION 1
for this round.Edited to make my answer shorter.
I like this one because we can't carry all that meat and we need to keep moving,Although I would've had fun with that knife!
Option 1 for me please - "Do not attempt to kill any cows."
After thinking it over a pistol and knife won't do me any good since the horns on these cattle looks pretty sharp, them being wild also have me a bit worried. There also seem to be many more snipers hiding in weird places this season so don't want to give away my location.
I only have to eat by day 6 round two.
Inventory:
1x Knife
1x Pistol (8 ammo)
1x Flashlight
1x Plant Field Guide
(I feel like one of those cartoon type characters, not sure where I am storing all this equipment.)
Team Weaponless will go for Option 1 - Do not attempt to kill cows.
Since both Nirado and myself have Finger Pistols with unlimited ammo we took aim at the closest cow and shot off 5 rounds each from our Finger Pistols.
Pew, Pew, Pew, Pew, Pew
The cow looked really confused watching us and just walked onward to meet up with his friends.
O yeah we both need to eat at the end of day 6
We, Team Turner ( @ironshield and @lturner ), being of hungry but cautious minds, choose Option 1
We spent some time this afternoon contemplating whether or not we could actually kill a cow with a knife. We think it's pretty likely we would fail and it's also likely one or both of us might get seriously injured or die in the attempt. We watched some strapping teenage boys expertly butcher a yearling sheep last fall and it took (we think) two of them to catch and hold the animal while the third actually delivered the knife stroke to quickly end it's life, after which there was a lot of movement by the animal. If the animal were as big as a cow, there's no way the two of us would be able to restrain it enough to even get close to it with the knife; and if we did, there's serious danger from that big an animal flailing around. We also do not think this is a safe place to stop out in the open considering the fate of the folks who tried going up on the ridge last round. If we were to kill the cow, it would require some time in the open clearing to actually get meat from it.
We are gambling that there will be another food opportunity as we continue downhill; and it's a gamble because the next round is zero hour for our food situation.
We have a knife, a flashlight, a magnesium fire starter, a bottle of gas, and a field guide. We have to eat by the end of today, but we don't want to risk getting gored. We hope to find some edible plants before the end of the day! With our handy guide, we think we'll be okay. I'm with @improv and together, we are ...and Juggling.
I have a flashlight and a plant id guide and I need to eat prior to the end of day 6. Here's to hoping next round has a pacifist friendly food choice! Option 1.
I have a knife, pistol , 8 ammo, a guide and I choose option 1
I have gas and a pistol and 8 rounds of ammunition and a magnesium firestarter and a plant food Guide. I must eat by the end of day 6. I choose option 1 this round.
I am sorry @heatherlg89 and I would like to change our choice to option 1. I have a shotgun with 5 rounds, a backup food supply, and water purification tablets. @heathelg89 has a pistol with 8 rounds, a backup food supply, and a flashlight. We both have to eat by the end of day 6. We both have to eat by the end of day 6. We both have to eat by the end of day 6. We are hungry but there is too much meat here to preserve and we don't have a knife 🍴 and the noise will draw unwanted attention. I would love a big steak right now but not as my last meal.
@heatherlg89 did contact me about this. But in the future, please contact me directly.
If either of you have Discord, please contact me at NovaAteBatman#8448. (There's also a STEEM-POCALYPSE chat in my server Novalord Industries.)
I have gas, water purification tablets, a field guide, and I need to eat before the end of day 6. I choose option #1 please.
I have a knife and plant guide. I need to eat by the end of day 6 to avoid starvation.
Choose option 1.
I prefer to have beef already ready between two loaves. XD
I have a magnesium fire starter, a backup food supply, a sweet PLANT FIELD GUIDE, and a rifle with six rounds of ammo. I choose Option 1 this round.
Since I can't carry all that meat, can't eat all that meat, can't preserve all that meat to eat later I think I'm going to have to pick option 1 this time please. :D
I've got a knife, some water purification tablets and a Plant Field Guild in my inventory and I've got to eat prior to the end of day 6.
Lower in the foothills I encounter a roving herd of cattle. They look friendly enough and I have food to spare for now, so I decide against announcing my position in trade for meat. As I walk past, I consider scratching one of the more docile ones on the chin.

It's the player's responsibility to make sure their game choices are put in the correct place.
Knife, Flashlight, and a Plant Field Guide. Don't have to eat until the end of day 6. I choose option 1
I have a pistol w/8 rounds, a knife, water purification tablets, and a plant field guide. I need to eat by the end of day 6. I will choose option 1 not to kill the cows. I will take my chances on some plants.

I have a pistol with 8 rounds, 2 backup food supplies, water purification tablets, and a Plant Field Guide. I need to eat by the end of Day 6. I choose Option 1 this round.
(The problem with hunting down cows is you need the right weapon and optimal positioning. At best I've only got one or the other on any cow. No point in risking bullets here, or worse yet, getting gored if I were to screw up.)
I have a pistol with 8 rounds of ammunition, 2 cans of food, water purification tablets, and a plant field guide. I must eat by the end of day 6. I choose option 1 this round.
I got a knife, flashlight and field plant guide and i need to eat at the end of day 6 I really hope there are berries growing somewhere.....I am not Rambo so i can't take out a fully grown cow with a knife so I choose to wave at the cow and leave it alone...Option 1

Team "Last minute" (@erikaflynn and @bodyinbeta) choose option 1 - Do no attempt to kill the cows.
We have a knife, 2 pistols with 16 rounds of ammunition, water purification tablets, gas, fire starter, and plant guide. Need to eat until the end of the day 6.
I have a pistol (8 ammo), flashlight, 2 backup food and need to eat by the end of Day 6. I choose option 1, don't want to be gored to death by a cow ;)

@akinsource + @bitrocker2020I have a pistol with 8 rounds, a back up food supply, and a flashlight. I choose option 6 and using 3 bullets for a head shot. My partner @Charlesarthuriii is going for vital organs shot in option 5! We stumble upon a bunch of cows along the way. "If we can take one down we wouldn't have to eat until day 8!" I spouted optimistically. After a brief discussion we decided to use my pistol for head shot and his shotgun for vital organs of course! "Steady...steady...BOOM!!!! "Did we get him?..." 😧
I have a rifle with 6 rounds of ammunition and a Plant Field Guide. I must eat by the end of Day 6. I choose option 6 for this round, risking up to 2 rounds of ammunition with my rifle.
The cutoff is the cutoff. You missed the cutoff in D5R2. Your game is over and you're no longer playing.
Next time, if you don't want to "die like this" make sure you don't miss the cutoff.

OPTION 4 – Attempt vital organ shot(s) on the nearest cow, which is walking away. (For players with guns. Please specify gun type and number of rounds of ammunition that you are willing to risk.)
I have to eat!! So I choose option 4.
I have a knife, a pistol with 8 rounds, water purification tablets, Plant field guide. This option is the best becaue you can't aim with a pistol that far so I have to choose this option!
This post received a 1.5% upvote from @randowhale thanks to @rkrijgsman! For more information, click here!
We are going for the Texas heartshot and taking option 4. We will both fire 1 round simultaneously from the rifle and the shotgun and a 2nd round if it turns on us/runs for a total of 4 rounds
I now have: a rifle with 4 rounds, 2 cans of food, and a firestarter
@drprepper now has: a shotgun with 3 rounds, bottle of gas, and a flashlight
We ate some weeds and need to eat again by the end of today DAY 6
On 3... 2... 1... BOOM death by wounded pissed off cow lol
I choose to fire my rounds and run faster than @sireland
I need to eat by the end of Day 6, so this opportunity is too good to pass up.
I only have a pistol, so I'm going to try Option 4 and focus on the nearest cow, who hasn't seen me yet, as she's walking away - to get the biggest bang out of my pea shooter. I'll use up to 4 rounds of the 8 I have to take out it, with shots to vital organs. I don't want to chance leaving it wounded, so 3 back up shots should be more than enough to finish the job, if the first one doesn't.
Checking to make sure my flashlight is still securely in my back pocket, in case I have to run, I line up my first shot and hope for the best. Some steak tartar would be welcome right about now!
Option 4
I need to eat soon and my shotgun should be able to handle this without a problem...
But just in case something unexpected happens i'm willing to risk 4 shotgun rounds.

Sorry for not getting the lists up on the last round, but since no one had died D5R1, it felt unnecessary.
I wish you'd post a game I could play! I upvote all your posts and I can't play any one of these dang games lol!!!
I wish you could read and respect the posts!
Please forgive me... I'm elderly and don't always see everything. I consider @papa-pepper a dear friend and only wished to interact with him.
Once again, please forgive my ignorance- I'll strive to be more like you.
If that is the case, then I apologize for being curt with you. Though the request not to reply to STEEM-POCALYPSE game posts if you're not a player still stands.
We get a lot of spammers in here, as well as people that just totally disregard the request at the top of the page and leave what they think are clever or witty comments and that somehow are supposed to be an exception to the no replying request.
Replying to those people with snark is one of the ways I keep from losing my mind. It happens so damn much.
I appreciate the flag anyway!
I thought I'd removed it. I apologize.

Really? Because if you read it, you shouldn't have commented on it. And you should know why.
The first sentence of this particular post kindly requests that people not playing this game do not reply to it. This is an ongoing elimination game where hundreds of players sometimes need to reply and then we need to document every comment. The first sentence of this particular post kindly requests that people not playing this game do not reply to it. This is an ongoing elimination game where hundreds of players sometimes need to reply and then we need to document every comment. People ignoring my request and replying to this post make our job a lot more difficult.
So far, you are not off to a good start.
