So I have been a minnow for the last 30 days. A decent following although how do you know who is actually active!?
What's the level of success? There's a hierarchy and I have seen some minnows grow quickly, while other fade away. I love steem. It's fun, intelligent (mostly), and free (mostly).
My level of success should not be based upon others. At the same time, the feeling of insecurity seems to be based upon; what defines my success. Is it my user rating? My ability to comment and get upvotes? My amount of followers?
Time will tell. I think the most important point is to GAIN knowledge. Enjoy the photos from around the world. Get to know the community. It's like high school. It's nice to see the friend you started out with and you will grow together. Sometimes you gain the attention of a whale, but they are in a grade of their own. Sorta like the high school hotty who is way out of your league :)
I appreciate those that have followed me. I follow
many more then who follow.. because I want to grow, learn new things, and most of all CONTRIBUTE.

I think you've had success. You made 100$ in one month having fun in front of your computer, time that you otherwise maybe would have wasted on facebook, youtube or other stuff am I right? :) My goal is to have an account worth 100$ the first month.

maybe it is. Even when I am at $1000 i don't think i'll withdraw. I want at least $1000 SP but at this rate could take 10 months
I think we have to look at it in context. We are pretty early in the game. I know the really early adopters/whales have made shit ton of money, but that's been in a REALLY short time. I mean..a fair amount of people have made hundreds of thousands of dollars, real money it seems to me, in a year! So for guys like us - the best of us, adopting about a year later we could be looking at maybe tens of thousands in a year - if we're creating good content and getting popular. More realistic we might make a couple thousand dollars this first year, right? But still..by blogging? In 2017? Even making 100 bucks a month by sidehustling on steemit is amazing to me. And then you have the potential rise in the steem-currency if im not mistaken? And sure, it's about the money..and that's probably why this is going to be very popular and why I wanna invest time in it. But it's also about interacting with and follow cool people. I don't fully understand how value/money is created by people blogging yet..but it seems legit so far, and the economy of the world is at least twice as fucked up and non-comprehensible so..lets go! :)

It takes time, just like everything else, boss. I'm still a minnow a year later. A somewhat larger minnow, but my holdings aren't extravagant by any means. lol My best suggestion would be to diversify your efforts. Create content and curate.
I just check and you have a lot of SP and still consider yourself a minnow? Here I thought I was on my way lol .
2k SP is far from having a lot lol. I wish. I can only add a few cents to a post with my votes. That said, I have an effect. And that's the real satisfaction I derive from it. Best of luck to you! :D
