If you won't do a good, then do no harm!
The moral minimum rule says you should do no intentional harm to others. This is one principle upheld as indispensable for moral conduct in a particular or general context or life.
In the business world, it is a social responsibility that is taken very seriously and so far it pretty much works. When you are involved in influencing the lives of quite a few persons, it is always best to make them feel welcomed and accepted.
Steemit is a place where everything is possible, and by everything, I mean everything. The good, the bad, the despicable, the ugly, the not so ugly and the unimaginable. It is understandable to want to get ahead by any means but it should also be understandable that you can get ahead without causing harm to others.
Do no intentional harm. Do not take it upon yourself to "lord it" over those you consider as being beneath you.
I was just thinking about my Steemit adventure and so far, I am sure this rule has in some way or the other worked for me. When you have the moral minimum as a guide, you will be able to understand how best to proceed without intentionally causing harm to others or your environment.
The moral minimum is what we should all practice here on Steemit just as @dan talked about the silver rule. As Steemit is a platform for the creative commons, we are all enjoined to do no harm to others. Our ethical behaviour should at all times speak beneficial good to the world and that in turn will make the world a better place.
HOW THEN DO WE USE THAT RULE ON STEEMIT.
The Moral Minimum is simple and breaking it down for you means- you should consider non-maleficence to be the most basic of all the cardinal principles of ethics. You should be ethically correct and say: "even if I would not do good, at least I will do no harm."
Like I have severally mentioned in my various posts, Steemit is hard and getting to that point where the rewards are felt can be a journey into the farthest parts of our minds. I have seen quite a number of unruly behavior as was handed out to some users, myself included.
There are some people here on Steemit whose forte is to make others feel less of themselves. Why they do that I cannot really explain. They just get a hard-on from making others sad.
Looking through the journey here shows so much unprofessional disposition which makes it a less than interesting journey for some. Trolls are everywhere and before now, it was easy to identify them because they label themselves boldly and with some levels of sad joy. Today, trolls are everywhere on the internet and even on Steemit and they tend to make others miserable.
There is a profound vibrancy in the Steemit ecosystem that unites creative commons from all over the globe.
As a community designed to make collaboration and participation a rewarding experience, we owe it to ourselves to look out for the benefit of others.
I have come this far and will not go back to being anything less. I live with a deep understanding of the moral minimum, do some good no matter how small or do no harm.
Chart a path
Charting a path here on Steemit is as easy as ABC, but the path can either be profitable or otherwise. At first it may not look like a profitable path, but trust me, it gets better as you go on.
Choose today to do good, adopt the Silver Rule or the Moral Minimum rule as a footpath and you will find same working for you.
In conclusion, do no Harm! The world is in need of good people and you are just what the world need.
Make the world a better place for someone today!
Nice read for first thing in the morning with coffee :) Imagine if every single person you met was holding this in their heart as well. We can only do our part to cultivate it.
The results will be massive if every single person holds this understanding in their hearts. Thank you for reading.
Super article. I agree.
Thank you and good luck. ;)
Thank you for reading and good luck to you as well.
I am of the opinion too that the moral minimum rule, is also an offshoot of the golden rule.
Don't not unto other what you don't want them to do to you. Love them as if they are the extension of yourself. That way, we make the world a better place for someone here or on the outside.
Thanks for the share.
Thank you for reading. Doing unto others as we would ourselves is the most important service we will ever render to humanity.
You are welcome. And have a steemy day ahead. All the best.
I am still fairly new to Steemit but so far I have found it to be a rewarding experience. People have been kind and supportive and have offered good advice. I look forward to continuing my Steemit journey and I will make it a point to treat others with respect as well. Good post @ejemai.
Please continue to be a help to someone, the community has evolved on that platform and will continue to get better. Thank you for reading.
This deserves some attention. Upvoted and resteemed :]

Thank you for reading. Steemit is waxing strong everywhere.
Good post, you mentioned the silver rule twice, but no link to it.

Dan's post where he mentions it is here:

Thanks. Must have missed it. Will remember to do that next time.
Great post.....the good we do is a seed sown.....it germinates, produces a lot more seeds that make the life a lot more fun to experience!
It is indeed a seed sown. Thank you for reading
Also if here are some bullys, I have to say that the Steemit Community is one of the nicest I have ever been part of. If I look in Facebook, youtube etc. I only see rude behavior...
We can do better and make the internet a truly decentralized and safe place for collaboration. Thank you for reading.
This is incredibly a simple rule to live by with powerful change to humanity. If everyone could at least abide by this rule, the world would be a better place.
It will make the world a better place and we look forward to having more people abide by it. Steemit is already blazing the trail.
Most conform in steemit not because they liked to, but because what could or may happen if they don't. Steemit is a trail blazer, no doubt about that. Best thing to come out of the crypto world.
This wonderful post has received a bellyrub of 5.13 % upvote from @bellyrub thanks to this cool cat: @ejemai. My pops @zeartul is one of your top steemit witness, if you like my bellyrubs please go vote for him, if you love what he is doing vote for this comment as well.
Great article @ejemai.
Some trolls are actually a way to know we have some issues to still fix on steemit. Imagine if there are no troll nor spam, we would be relaxed and not pay attention to those areas. However, steemit is meant to be enjoyed by all. Lets do that collectively.
