Hello, I am relatively new to steemit. After seeing this good post, I tried to follow the links to learn more about the top 10 voters' behaviour at Steem Ocean. To my limited understanding, most of them should have done self-upvote immediately after their own post or comment. This make the rewards share mostly back to the author (i.e. self-upvoters themselves). But in some cases, there is still a signicant part of the reward (closed to 20-25%) shared to other "mysterious" curators. And those groups of curators seem following the self-upvoter to make further upvote on a regular basis... In fact, I still do not understand fully about the steemit ecosystem. But your post and Steem Ocean are really useful and essential for further analysis. Thank you so much.

Curation is essentially rewards for upvoting early. The idea is to find posts you think are good and to upvote them before others do, to be paid a 'finders fee' for that post which comes out of the 25% of the final payout for the post that goes to curators.
