I "peaced out" because ONE person can effectively censor anyone on this platform for whichever reason he sees fit with no community discussion or recourse.
Why would I want to promote or take part in something as toxic as this?
I've held onto my account here for well over 3 years because I had hope that this platform could actually follow through on its "vision" of being a censorship resistant social media haven.
It's a superb way to acquire cryptos without going through KYC, it's a great implementation of how cryptos can be used in daily life and it's a genious way to get "outsiders" exposed to this crypto space.
Plenty of pros, but at this point there is one glaringly obvious con that outweighs the good, at least for me.
I haven't completely given up hope for Steemit, but I think it's becoming obvious to a great many people on this platform that the witnesses have got some things to figure out.
@heiditravels Yeah I get where you are coming from and agree with a lot of things you are saying. Don't let a basement dweller or two kick you off an entire platform though. Like I said you do a good job and know what you are talking about. You might as well keep posting the content you are making for YouTube and if someone keeps flagging you eventually a white knight with some SP will come to the rescue.
The witness situation here has always been a sham and it is unfortunate to see a similar type thing happen with the EOS BP situation as well. Unfortuantely the best thing for STEEM is for it to go to $0.01 so suddenly a changing of the guard can happen and others can try to take a big position here and make moves. I just think STEEM is always going to be a production level test net and a cautionary tale of what can almost be. It will be a great funding source for about 50 people and a group of overpaid STEEMIT Inc employees. I don't fit into either one of the categories so I will keep taking notes here but won't ever leave even if I'm just getting $0.10 to post a quick picture.
Are you in Indiana at the moment or over in Europe? I'm in Indiana for the time being.
