But ... Steem is really just one dapp whereas EOS is the platform on which to build lots and lots of dapps. Steem is great of course but EOS empowers developers to do more and change the world.
Steem is a blockchain...steemit is a dapp. The only thing separating Steem from EOS is parallel processing (which is on page 18 of the roadmap)
Not correct, look at d.tube, busy.org utopian.io etc.
I do like Steem but its is all just flavours of the same dapp - post, curate and reward in steem.
EOS allows any type of dapp to be built. How will you build an exchange using Steem, how can you do smart contracts, how do you create your own viable token linked to your dapp, how would you build an Uber style service. If you look at any list of potential applications for blockchain, Steem is only a good match for a few.
Actually the Steem blockchain is very flexible. See this excerpt from one post of @dantheman:
Thanks - this is very interesting - It mentions subchains and even the idea of running an Ethereum VM as a steem subchain. Has anyone actually looked into running a subchain? Is there any information around for potential developers? Some links would be good - I would like to see if I could use this approach, after all Steem is here now.
Check out @biophil and this post:

And this other one:

pocketsend:1000@onthewayout, I do follow @biophil and have been watching pocket but saw it as a novelty rather than something that may point the way to future possibilities. I will take a deeper look - thanks for the pointers, they are really appreciated.
Check the documentation for "custom_json" ;) you can store anything you want.. In fact the "follow" feature is already implemented not as a native feature but as a custom json tx ;) check here I encoded the Bitcoin Price back a few months ago in a custom json block just to prove the point (I just made a new one since I don't feel like digging back through all the blocks to find which it is in). You can see the custom_json containing today's bitcoin price in a custom_json tx encoded on blockchain!

FYI, #Steem is a data storage blockchain. Unlike, #Steem, #EOS is a smart contract friendly blockchain along with data storage feature.
For developers:
#Steem - Here, we can make apps where we only need storage facility like photos storage, file storage. E.g. Dtube, utopian apps are just storing user data on #steemit.
#EOS - Here, we can make contracts which can state anything we want. e.g. Uber app can be made on #EOS not on #Steem.
This is biggest difference!!...
you can definitely make an Uber like app on Steem. I have been thinking about that already.
Steemit still struggles to get to the next quality level needed for mass adoptions. Steem is highly dependant of this.
EOS should be less independant of 1 application.
I like both :)
Me too but I don't have any money in eos so I like steem better
Yes Steem has the ability to decentralized than any other social network. .... Nice support to us with this blog... Great.
Nice post to understand about eos and Steem.
As i am currently using Steemit and have some steem i will go for Steem ;)
over Eos !
your article is potentially find out the point for winning of steem as it advance than eos.
I mean,,,,,,
Solutions to problems are like sunshine. really good one!!!!
sigo los concejos amigo gracias por el dato
this is really epic !!
With EOS currently hitting the headlines in these past few days, this article certainly seems more relevant especially as we forget through our infamcy and try to claim pavements towards becoming the standard platform for decentralized blogging.
