RE: STEEM Side Chick Analogy (My Own Comment Made Me Laugh 🤣)

Youre right, something always seemed off about this place. I always felt like good content looked so out of place here; as if it didnt belong. Good content creators come here, feel weirded out by all this nonsense on this blockchain and then leave. Only retards like us stick around.

That meme was actually hilarious. No steemian could think of making a meme that funny.

I think the feeling people got was that for them to get a big payout they had to make something a home schooled basement dweller would like or they knew the safe route was to make a content mill where they pump cookie cutter content out consistently once or twice a day to be put on upvote bots. Or they realized that one of the only strategies that worked throughout time is just to circle jerk how cool STEEM is. Once most people realize this situation they just peace out.
YouTube isn't perfect either. It is extremely hard to build a channel that people like and that isn't going to get shadow banned or demonetized. There were times when the NELK boys dropped bangers that got like 5 Million views quick and didn't make anything off ad revenue but now their merch is blowing up pretty solid.

I know their is a happy medium between this stake weighted rewards and the ad revenue sharing that we see on YouTube. The issue is video hosting is so expensive and actually storing even this text on the blockchain is in efficient compared to centralized databases.

That is why I thought that the DTube strategy was interesting of allowing people to embed videos from other platforms so they could piggy back off other hosting. But once again when i try to embed videos on my DTube channel it gives me an error and doesn't show up on DTube but generates the STEEM Post so I never get DTube upvotes or upvotes from people over there anymore. It is frustrating and I'm sure getting funding for them is frustrating because they have put so much work in.

Once they were collecting information and things weren't working I didn't invest. Most other people didn't either. That is another reason I"m not on Appics...... it wants a bunch of info.

With the memes, a lot of times even when you think of something funny you know that someone posting cookie cutter BS here will get more money so we don't even bother. I put some solid work into some decent memes previously on here but to modify a video to that level for no payout is pretty insane for who ever did that.

What kind of projects are you going to focus on while you are up in Canada ?
Maybe me, you, and @rulesforrebels could meet up for a meeting of the minds in Michigan or Ontario. I'm in Northern Indiana and he is in Chicago.
