hey @pharesim, do you know how exactly one calculates the bandwidth remaining? I'm not seeing it from the data in the get_accounts object. is there another object I need to request, or am I just totally missing it?

I figured it out, just as an fyi, the additional data you need is in get_dynamic_global_properties, and the formula is:

has_bandwidth = ( account_vshares * max_virtual_bandwidth ) > ( account_average_bandwidth * total_vshares );

I understand the upvote power, but what does bandwidth stands for? Can you please explain why is voting power so small?

Because there's no fees on steem, everyone gets the right to a certain share of the possible total transactions. The current algorithm limiting access is too strict, the update will solve that.

It's because of the many new users (and their spam to collect upvotes). Read the github issue in the second link for more information.

But from my experience the bandwidth dismis it happened at the time of our post or comment from 1 reaching thousands, from 1 thousand reach about 2 thousands, at that moment happened dismis bandwidth, master, I have 2 times feel this.So it's because of the number of new users and spam ...? The exceeded bandwidth message has been busting my chops the last few days too. I'm kinda moving up in the rep and sp for a newbie, but it got to me too.

Hahaha, I described VP to a colleague as mana the other day. Then explained how it recharges over time. He asked if there wa sa ring of regeneration to make it regen faster.
