Even though most of the people think that EOS is going to be the "Ethereum Killer", block.one's plans after EOS is done more looks like EOS is going to be the "Steem(it) Killer".
Sure, they have to develop their social network first and attract a lot of users, before the network effect kicks in. I think block.one's social network will not only compete with Steem, but also try to compete with Facebook.
The reason why Steem(it) should be afraid of this new competitor is, because most likely a social network on EOS will reward its contributers with some kind of cryptocurrency, something that was Steem's unique selling point so far.
exactly. i dunno why so many people (including ned) are being kinda naive. if eos can kill ethereum, steemit is over.
eos dawn is one of the biggest projects on github. compared to steem, competition on eos is on a different level. it's major league vs minor.
even though steemit is opensource too, nobody's rushing in to build the best version of steemit, while decentralized apps including social media are already running on eos testnet. it's not surprising because no developer would wanna build a dapp on a platform owned by ned.
podcasts, youtube, uber brought entire industries down. it's only the beginning because there'll be upgraded/decentralized versions of them on eos (or whatever new blockchain that will allow them to). the best thing is none of them would have to ask for ned's permission. or zuck's.
if steem/steemit continues to be centralized i'm afraid it stands no chance. i don't think even facebook can fight against decentralization and blockchains. even if they create their own it'll be a centralized system that mimics a few things. the more they fight it, the harder it'll be to control. blockone doesn't even have to fight anybody. they're simply providing a tool for any community to start fighting centralized systems.
meanwhile ned is trying to be facebook 😐
Yeah, I totally agree: even tough Steem is around quite a while and has quite a mass-appeal, it still didn't take off as much as it could have. Since social media platforms on EOS are able to do the same thing as Steem, just better, it will be a though competition for Steem.
The same is true for Facebook: with the recent scandal in mind, users are slowly learning that their data is very valuable and the "free" service provided by Facebook is only a small compensation for what they give away. I admit, that this is going to be a long process, but unlike past efforts to take down Facebook (like Diaspora: https://diasporafoundation.org/), social media dApps on EOS (or Ethereum, if well executed) have the potential to take down Facebook, by offering ownership of data and a compensation for sharing the data.
awesome stuff! no single company will bring down facebook. but an entire free market can. eos might as well empower a giant number of communities and individuals to join forces. it could be sooner than we think. maybe a few years until facebook becomes irrelevant as it clings to every bit of control.
SMTs are a possibility too.. (my wishful thinking) but it doesn't seem like they're ready to launch any time soon..
Exactly: it's very difficult for a single competitor to take on Facebook (not even Google+ managed to do so, and it had Google pushing it), but maybe a huge number of distributed, but interconnected, communities can.
amen brother. it's coming.
and not just facebook. even governments are going down.
maybe not the entire government but less control.
One step at a time, let's see what effect this will have on Facebook first :)
wow its so amazing debate my friend @roundbeargames.... happy to see your post everyday😊😊
thanks! from one catlover to another! 😃
excellent work dear friend @roundbeargames
thank you :)
welcome friend
interesting debate ... thanks for posting
thanks it's more like my monologue 😆
The observations are extraordinary, and true all social platforms can come and go in an instant😊
yes in a single instant. if you also consider dan is the creator of steem, he can easily create another one on top of eos. with upgrades. and almost instantly too!
Your blog looked good after Thank you
thanks man 👍
I learned a lot about reading your blog. Thank you @roundbeargames
thanks! just make sure that you do your own research too because i'm no expert 😃
Say good about China and Korea. thanks for share this post dear friend
haha i only wanna speak the truth 😆
Good post and interesting @roundbeargames
I am proud of you for understanding about things related to the crypto world
thanks! it's mostly my concerns. i want steem to be great. only right now the current path kinda isn't 😐
this is really interesting bro, thanks for sharing this let's hope the steen does not disappear
i hope so too. but remember dan is the real creator of steem/steemit. he can easily create another version on eos. that i'm very worried about.

excellent information although a little confusing friend, the platforms may cease to exist?
if dan makes a decentralized version of steemit on eos, people will move over in an instant. it's a possibility.
This is very great info...I want to know about more....Can you share this topic again..?
i was thinking about making a new video today but talking about crypto really isn't my thing.
but i might make another post when eos mainnet launches 😃
thanks 👍
yay 👍
Kids arguments. They’re both great code writers and entrepreneurs. Steemit and Steem will be fine and whatever it is that Dan will come up with on EOS will be a great competitor of STEEMIT. Competition is healthy for a ongoing project 😊
indeed they're petty stuff. except eos will overpower steemit if steemit continues to be centralized over ned. i'm afraid it's not even going to be a competition. but i could be wrong. we'll just have to wait and see 😃
excellent article and interesting the steem will have new competitors?
hopefully not. but dan's social platform on eos will not only be a competitor, but a threat 😦
Really frien. thanks for your blog. i like your all post
thanks i'm glad you like them 😃
thanks 👊
Wonderful information . thank friend for your post
thanks. it's more like opinions 😃
might even be biased.
Thanks for your news dear @roundbeargames

thanks for comin @bornx!
thanks to you too 👍
i see your information is right. thanks for your post.I want to know about more
well i hope i'm wrong and steem prices go to the moon! 😄
information
thanks 😌
Wonderful post.. I learn a lot by read your post.. Thank friend for your post
thanks man. just make sure to do your own research! 😃
For the fact that i love competition, i also hate drama. Cant wait to see how all unfold @roundbeargames
competition is good. the big problem is that nobody's competing to create the best version of steemit.com. on the other hand, eos dawn is already one of the biggest projects github.
I will read more on this topic because it is not my strong point, thank you very much friend for sharing your position on these platforms.
thanks! make sure to google stuff on your own! 😄
@roundbeargames definitivamente esta competencia nos hara crecer como comunidad, pero la mejõr información de todo es que el mercado de las Criptomonedas crece y crece
eventually crypto and decentralization is gonna takeover. we just dunno if it's gonna be steem, eos, or some other coin 😆
dude, where's that little executable you had built to follow people who follow you or something like that?
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sthqjqnb64rkbi2/AACmoIIplD2Zs14riGOzA9K1a?dl=0
right now i only built it for windows10. lemme know if something doesn't work!
@roundbeargames compiled June 4th :D nice - fresh out the oven!👍
people haven't been asking for it so i didn't have the exe ready. now it is 😃
@roundbeargames I have you on my autoupvote list already, If I use your app will it interfere? And how does it upvote, per single use or constantly as long as it's running?
it won't interfere. it will vote only when you click. i just go through and click each button once a day, while adjusting the sliders.
except unfollow, i use it 5~6 times per 2 weeks.
thats one of your nice blog. i got somthing
thank you. very cute profile pic btw 😃
let's hope ned really knows what he's doing, because otherwise steemit will happen as nokia
well nokia was #1 at some point. if steem goes down it'll be quick and barely noticeable.
you are absolutely right dude
resteemed it
