Good idea. Unfortunately, this puts the burden of cost on the sender of the message. I believe even a small charge on an action turns people off. Great idea but I think the presence of a fee at all will hinder growth.

I disagree. When you send an email to someone, you're stealing their time away from them. And time is a valuable resource. There are few things more unproductive in life than reading through a list of emails, because it's a list of all the things people want from you. Rarely are they giving you something of value. Let's face it: the only reason why spam mail exists is because it's free. As soon as you charge something for it, no matter how small the monetary amount, you create a huge disincentive to sending one email (an ad) to a huge number of people.
I agree that your time can be spent in many better ways than reading emails. You should value your time more than anything else. However, nobody else values your time. If you are asking the sender to put a dollar value on THEIR valuation of the receiver's time then there may be issues.
No. We're asking that the recipient place a value on his own time, and if the sender isn't willing to pay it, he is blocked from sending the email. That's a perfectly normal business transaction. "If you're not willing to pay some minimal amount for my time, then there is no reason for me to listen to your sales pitch or proposal."
Imagine if we had implemented this for the phone system years ago. We could have avoided all of those annoying telemarking calls (and scams) around dinner time. LOL
