Today I thought I had achieved a running milestone, but it seems the timing was off and so I still need to work on that. However, I did achieve something on Steem I have been reaching for. I wanted to get to 20,000 SP this year. It has happened a bit earlier than expected as I have been acquiring some Steem lately I bought some using crypto I got from Coinbase giveaways and also using some of my own money. With the current price it is hard to resist. You can get from nothing to minnow (500SP) for just £63. If you believe in Steem then buy some if you can. The trading volume is pretty low right now, so any trades could make a difference.
steemd.Apps like @steem-plus show various sub-rankings for minnow, dolphin etc. I still have another 200SP to go until I get to Dolphin II as I think that is based on 'vests' which are the internal representation of our tokens. I think the next level is at 40 million vests. You can see your current value on
You will notice that about half my Steem Power is delegated. Most of that is to @tenkminnows so that it can vote up small accounts. I do not intend to power down what Steem that account earns any time soon. I am hoping it will become a minnow itself this year. The rest of the delegations are to some projects and individuals. I earn a tiny amount of Steem from those.
I am almost at 5500 followers, but I know most are inactive and so the value does not mean too much.
According to SteemWorld I have made 19.5k Steem from curation and posts, but I am sure there must have been more as I have spent a fair bit on various things including trips to Steemfest. I do not keep track of it all as it is mostly earned and so I am not too worried about whether I lose money on what I buy. At one point my account was worth almost $100,000! It is far less now, but that is okay with me as I have had so much value out of it.
If you want lots more stats about your account then Steemitboard has charts. For example I am ranked 320th by reputation. I am 84th for comments and 47th for replies.

Congrats on reaching that milestone. I am sure you will meet your running goal in due time as well. I am shooting for 10k SP right now, but I know it is going to take me a while to get there. If I sold some of my Steem Monsters cards I could probably get there quicker.
I think it can still be a good time to earn Steem if you can get an by the curation projects. It does seem to help if you write about Steem :)

Cheers. It has been over 3 years now. I suspect it is harder to just earn that much Steem right now, but I see a lot of people buying up Steem and I can see why. I still think it has great potential and I am not really that worried about what I make.
I definitely agree on the "potential" aspect... hence I am also still here haha - not for quite as long as you, but just over two years now.
As for the not earning, I would like to care a whole lot less about it, but I made the decision to blog full time, so the little bit that I do earn goes towards paying things like my sons school fees etc. so yeah... kinda do care haha :D
I am quite liking the changes after the HF's and am looking forward to the road ahead :)
