In The Steem Universe the Whales are Gods and the Minnows are Humans

So as I am trying to learn how we gain value in this universe we call STEEM, I have come to learn that our fates and power are linked to the whims of a digital god. These gods can earn thousands a day. While us human minnows hope that with our best attempts they may notice us and grant favor in our lives. This favor comes with a single upvote that can be so powerful it could change someones life. (If @dtube gave a 100% upvote it would be worth $244)

It is a fascinating coincidence that our digital universe parallels our physical universe so well. We have the elites with all the power and the masses trying to get bye. We post our videos, sing our songs and write our blogs hoping to get noticed by anyone with the power to change our lives. So it is, on to the next blog, maybe it will be the one that gets me noticed!

Life's little synchronicities, I just read this in Forbes today -

It’s the people in power who pass power on to other people.

Be careful sometime gods smite you!

I wish one of these gods would hook me up with some steem.

I am not one, yet, but my vote at 100% strength gives $0.10 approximately. But, whoever I vote for need to earn it with a good effort except the first 10% or 20% which is given rather freely.

In approximate terms, 10,000 SP at 100% vote = $1.10 to $1.20
So, this is just saying that this is a business and the rewards is based on the effective / applied SP of those who vote.
Right now, STEEM is less than $2 ($1.80 approx.), so, 10,000 SP will cost you about $18,000 to give your vote about $11 to $12 (10 votes) per day in return if you vote for yourself 100% of the time up to 20% per day.
So, 365 * $1.15 * 10 = $4,197.5 / year and divided by $18,300 = about 23% per year ROI.
And, this is available to anyone - the more that you invest, the more that you can earn.
The next thing to consider is to not self vote 100%. You will need to vote for others and hope that you could earn enough from others voting for your posts as the voting power that you cast each day.
Many newbies are achieving that - higher then 23% ROI based on the 15 SP that they started with, all given for free. So, what is the complaint?

I didn't even know we could regulate what percentage of our vote we give. I know now, but don't know how to adjust it.

There are posts talking about how to vote a percentage. But, the simple fact is that with 500 SP or more, 100% strength voting is probably close to $0.05 and the system / website automatically gives you a slider to scale it at 1% increment.
At lower SP, you can also get a slider, I think through busy.com, but that will not make much difference since your vote will not matter much if anything but symbolic.

No complaints, just an observation based on an article I read.

I am not saying that you were:

Steemit is so
UNFAIR

I'm not whining, I just am amused that they had the chance to build something that could have been more balanced. Instead they ended up with the same old thing. The rich get richer....

how much did you invest.

hell I only learned today that you can buy yourself power. Personally I am not interested in Crypto as it is to unstable and I don't like roller coasters anymore.

Lemme see...someone GAVE you thirty dollars worth of steem delegation ( +/-) to open your account.

and yet you are amused that they had the chance to build something that could have been more balanced. Instead they ended up with the same old thing. The rich get richer.

Did I get that right?
someone gave you something for free...you have no idea how the system works...yet you think they could have done a better job?

What , exactly, do you want?
How could it be built?
How many millions of dollars will YOU contribute to insure it's success?

Wanted to thank you. Since you chastised me I have learned a lot. Just learned of the blue paper and read it twice. I have a better understanding of this platform and how it works. I also bought STEEM, so I am vested.

you're welcome

Man you are reading into this all wrong I ain't the type of guy to complain about dinner when you fed me for free. I made the choice to join and although I am surprised by the format I am not complaining. It is what it is. If it is accepted it will be around long term, if it's not then it won't simple as that.
