It's been true since the beginning of the platform...
Steemians get grumpy when the Steem price goes down and they want to "change" everything... "Tweek this and that", they suggest.
Also of note:
Steemians also get grumpy when the price goes up. All the sudden some are mad that others are earning more than some investors think they should.
A third interesting observation:
Steemians get grumpy when the price remains the same... it just goes sideways, and everyone gets restless and starts to try to figure out why and how to fix it.
I guess Steem makes people grumpy.
Here are some thoughts:
Payouts are increasing for those who are hanging around... The reward pool calculations are based on a 30 day average.
In addition, there are less people posting.
I bet many who left will be back... After they realize that nifty new token at "SteemClone" doesn't trade anywhere.
Also, this shows why we want to be attractive to people who have at least a few bucks to put in... Rather than those who want to immediately take money out.
Anyways, these are my Steem Thoughts tonight.
I figure some people just like being grumpy wherever they are, Steem or no Steem! Gotta find something to complain about, or what's the point in life? ;)
No one likes to lose money
I've been a little stuck in a hole learning how to do some basic programming and build a game, but it's pretty interesting to see the stark contrast on the platform from just a few weeks ago. I think it's got some upside and some downside like everything... first and foremost I don't mind seeing people that take this platform seriously sticking around and posting. To me, these are the people that understand the value is in the token not the USD amount. Jumping ship for a close sourced steemit clone seems kind of hilarious to me personally, but if people wanna jump more power to them. Glad to see a lot of the core users are still here though. :)
Yeah, I mean the site announces it is broken, doesn't have witnesses and doesn't trade.
It's "like" a blockchain and the votes don't matter.
I wish them well, but it's kind of funny.
"The reward pool calculations are based on a 30 day average."
I thought it was 7 days?
Okay, so... Both. I don't know how to explain it though.
The AMOUNT in the reward pool is based on a 30 day average of something. (I realized tonight, I am not sure what..)
The rewards themselves are paid out on a 7 day calculation having to do with voting stake. Geez, don't try to repeat that.
I get how it works, but I can't explain it. lol
Looks like you may be right unless HF 20 changed things.
https://steemit.com/steemit/@upbuzz/understanding-the-steem-rewards-pool
Haha the people jumping over to Weku will be a little sore when the realise that the token can't be traded any where and even if it does get listed it will be on a shit exchange where it will be worth a fraction of a cent.
Oh and people will always find an excuse to complain, that's what humans do best.
Let's see... it says at the top of the page, the rewards are broken...
They don't seem to have witnesses...
It's a dang joke, and I laugh when I hear about it.
And their white paper is still in draft... which is probably just a rip off of Steemit's white paper. Not that I've read it.
There is really no pleasing a steemian if it goes up they focus on how little stake they have if it goes down they focus on how little the value of their stake is. lol
I'm just here to crack jokes and get paid for it, this is the closest ill ever get to becoming a stand up comedian
Down a little more wouldn't be bad for me short term. Still want to buy more...but did just get bad news about my boiler today. Thought I might have avoided a full replacement with some repairs, but no dice. So a huge bill coming my way which probably ends my chances of buying any steem this year.
BTW, not going anywhere. @pifc and the curation contest are still alive and well also. Plus the new @minnowbuilder program has kicked off nicely. Think good things are coming.
Good news, bad news... I think we will likely drop a bit more if the crypto markets don't take off soon.
4th quarter rally would be nice...but who knows if that will happen.
To see any form of price increase in steem we need the mega accounts to stop selling for a few weeks to let the slack in the market get picked up. From there if they went back to selling the same dollar value as they currently are it would be less coins and we would see a rally. This is the downside to a very centralized "decentralized" coin.
It's a double edge sword IMO. The biggest fish sell a little each day and hold the prices down without a massive new player coming in and that means the coins get distributed better over time but our value can't go up. Or they hold more coins and their power gets even stronger but the value of steem goes up. I like both options...lol.
Lol all these baby pics , so reminds me of my daughter when she was fighting taking a nap. Just take a nap baby girl it will be all right, and steem will be alright too lol. Be well friend.
Look at price. Cry. Take a nap. Look at price. Cry harder.
Lol totally, it's all good tho. Look at the beauty in the world and be thankful to be alive.

Haha! Me too, and then you try and say 'you're tired baby' and she screams 'I'm not!' Lol, nice reminder. She's seven now so a bit past all that 😁😍

Lol yea totally, my girl is 8 now, but those memories are awesome aren't they haha. And these memories we have of the early days of steem will be too. Stay awesome! is what I say to my daughter when she is being herself and even tho sometimes grumpy even today , life has a way of being awesome if you let it, even though we get tired sometimes and we keep going in our ups and downs and we cherish each day awake or asleep. Because sometimes we need to rest sometimes we need to keep going. Be well bro nice to share this moment with you.

Haha, naps and babies fix everything!
Haha yea totally
lol... We will be okay.
Honestly speaking... I'm not grumpy. It's true that I want Steem to increase in price, but I'm here no matter if the price is $0,5 or $12.
I've realized that there's literally nothing I can do to affect the price, and I'm not wealthy enough to get the "important" people to listen to any of my suggestions, so I don't worry too much. I let others worry instead meanwhile I enjoy the ride.
lol...
Love the expression on those pictures!
Yes, it feels like that when Steem and SBD goes down.
I'm happy that communities are always here to support us.
The pictures of the kids made me laugh out loud,,,, i dnt want to be grumpy but sometimes I can’t help it when I see the price

I'm missing the $6 days.
Awwwww, me too. Hopefully it comes back 😊

Everyone in every crypto is feeling the same... "YIKES'.
YES! something to be said from being a vintage steemian and watching the masses leave to then come back a few months later to see that the platform and the eco system is doing well. it's the long haul that matters in everything in life, your either in for it or your a tourist :) -- thanks, this resonated massively :)
I just want to state for the record that I'm always grumpy... and I like pumpkin pie with a scoop of ice cream on it...
I actually see opporunity!

At some point we will reach equalibriazation of all these moving parts and just when that happens, and nearly everybody is as happy as they are gonna get, something will go up, or down, and then we'll have to wait all over again for equalibriazation to level it all out again,...
Ho hum, just another perfectly peaceful day in the only paradise we get.
I disagree here with Reward Pool calc for 30 days! Then you might feel it's lagging and like Fiat lol :D
Anyway I like the current market price! Coz we can collect more and we can prepare for the big launch of SMT without doubts!@whatsup,
Cheers~
This is very true... And... some apps are already planning their tokens.

I'm a bot. I detect haiku.
Ha, spot on!
So true all of it. I laughed particularly at the bit when steem goes up. I never expected last year to see so much snash about people's earnings from folk!
Wasn't that amazing! haha. SBD pump, nearly killed a few investors trying to figure out how to get their hands on it.
Lol, that is exactly what happened! Ah the good old days! :0)
I'm not sure I agree with your premise...I was incredibly grumpy waaaaay before I came across steemit!
May be it's made me worse, I might concede that..lol
Grumpy magnified.
I'm not grumpy. I'm making money for stuff I'd want to do anyway. I'm having a lot of fun. Make steemit enjoyable and you don't worry so much about the money
It's true.
In Conclusion : people always be grumpy for not getting enough free monies...
LOLOLOL
Pretty much!
Yes , I am pretty , on the inside (mostly) , thanks for the compliment.
bring on more free money!
You hit the nail right on the spot. Steemit is like a roller coaster ride. I'm still stuck on "come for the rewards, and stay for the community" but lately the community just turned into miners...Have a great day!
I hear you... stacking coins is not the same as building value... Sigh... Kids.
LOL this is almost poetic! What a great way to start my day, you've made me smile in the morning 😁
Do you think there's a market for a crypto that makes people grumpy? If so we should start touting it as our unique selling point. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Marketing Campaign:
Feeling Bitchy and need a topic? Buy Steem.
Are you an asshole who is tired of fighting with your wife and the neighbors? Come to Steem and attack your peers and maybe Ned! :)
This could prove to be the most disruptive campaign in marketing history! 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Unfortunately, its not only Steem; it is human nature that expose frustrations when it comes to money. I can in with low expectations and am enjoying the journey so I cannot complain. I definitely have seen the benefits of remaining active with posts and comments these last couple of weeks as the amount of Steem Power I have added is pretty great compared to the past!
Fear and Greed (and Grumpy)
In this time all the cryptocurrency market is down. According to me, like the last-time of crypto, this-time even in Dec. crypto will break their records. Thanks @whatsup for sharing some thoughts. Basically,
Maybe, but if we have to grind through a rough year, that will be fine too.
Guess we're all grumps then
...lol
everyone cannot be pleased at the same time, and it is important that we do what's best for the blockchain. the price of steem is affected by the mechanism of demand and supply, so it is not in the hands of a few of determine.
Lol the baby pictures reminds me of my growing up...when I want something and I am not getting it I put on such face.
Typical human never get satisfied and appreciate what they have. I like that you used cute grumpy babies. 😊

Is that SteemClone you mention an umbrella term for Whaleshares and Weku?
And you're right. These people most interested in immediate profit tend to leave as soon as things turn sour, so they are not our target investors.
haha, best of luck with that... :) (for those who have gone seeking other rockets)
