No skipped moves would definitely make the game more interesting but with all the backwards moves it would mean finishing the game could take a long time unless a player was extremely lucky. I would be willing to try the more difficult version.

I think forcing players to use all actions means the players aren't making any decisions themselves, it just becomes pure luck rather than luck + strategy. I'm sure there could be other ways to make it harder... you could always add in some snakes, haha.

Actually, they ARE having to think MORE because then they need to decide how to use an existing roll for their safest passage. For instance: If a safe spot is 3 moves away, but they roll a 5, they could move forward 4 and 1 back. It isn't as simple as just moving forward all the time.
