My favorite is jingle bells beaus next I moved to the US 16 years ago I did not speak a word of English . I came here two days before Christmas and this was the first thing I heard a day later . I never knew what they were saying but I started to sing with them like I knew what I was saying .
I m a Muslim......so naturally having nothing to do with Christmas...but every religious day be it Eid or Christmas....Eid .....diwali or any other thing ...it has a message ...PEACE ....LOVE ..AND ......HAPPINESS.....MAY THIS CHRISTAS BRING EACH AND EVERY HUMAN HAPPINESS AND PEACE ...AND MAY THE WORLD BECOME A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE...THOUGH I M NOT A PARTICIPANT IN THIS CONTEST BUT STILL I WOULD write ..that a beautiful song GIVE PEACE A CHANCE would have been my favourite one to play on any day including CHRISTMAS
Donβt you just love this time of this year? Christmas is my favourite time of the year. Everywhere we go, we are surrounded by Christmas trees, beautiful lights and decorations and not forgetting the Christmas songs.
There are just so many beautiful Christmas songs that bring out the spirit of Christmas. But one of my favourite Christmas song this year is, β12 days of Christmasβ.
Christmas is the season of giving because Christ gave His life for us. And this song just reminds me of how much love and presents we will be receiving from our family and friends.
But importantly, the joy we receive in giving and blessing others around us.
Blessed Christmas π
As i come from Nepal. And i dont celebrate it officially here. Just some friends gathering and drinks and enjoying holiday.
When i think of Christmas the song that comes in my mind is
" Last Christmas i gave you my heart" by George Michael
And Mariah carey- All I want for christmas Is You.
Fabulous songs! Enjoy the spirit of the day!
This is beautiful, I enjoyed it
Yes, both great Xmas songs to get into festive mood!
Very good proposal friend @good-karma, thank you very much for the invitation you have made. Here I leave the link of a Venezuelan song, which is called NiΓ±o JesΓΊs Llanero. It is a traditional song of our country and composed by one of the greatest folklorists as it was the teacher SimΓ³n DΓaz, besides being sung by children from various states of Venezuela. It is one of my favorites for what it means to be a Ranger, it is a lifestyle that exists in several places in Venezuela and in which activities of the field are usually carried out. What if the baby Jesus had been a Ranger? ?

Goooooooood!!!
Only one favorite Christmas song?
That's like asking me to pick my favorite childπ
There are holiday classics such as"Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Frosty the Snowman" That take me back to fond memories of my kindergarten Christmas play...
As an adult, "Little Drummer Boy", "Away in a Manger" and "Silent Night" never fail to make me misty-eyed, especially when I hear these carols performed at the midnight Christmas Mass.
To get me in festive Christmas spirits, "Feliz Navidad" "Jingle Bell Rock" and Bruce Springsteen's rendition of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" are my favorite tunes.
Merry Christmas! ππΈπΆπΉπ₯π»π
Same here! it's really hard to pick because every Christmas song is beautiful on their own! Love your choices too!! β€
Good choices! There really are so many wonderful Christmas songs!
I keep trying to add the song to my comment but it won't let me edit so I'm trying this way:
beautiful song, beautiful interpretation ... it's the first time I hear you sing, you have a beautiful voice!

Jeje gracias @marpa, esta vez fui mi propia camarΓ³grafa... @rdelgadop no es muy paciente jejeje
Snoopy vs The Red Baron (Christmas Bells) is definitely my favorite Christmas song. Gotta love Snoopy saving the day and ending the war! Thankfully someone made a great video to go along with it. Cheers my friend, itβs a shame it took me until the 14th day to see this great advent, but I will try my best to be back every day until Christmas :)
I agree that this is one of the best songs too! there are just so many it is hard to choose just one!
My favorite Christmas song is "A Perfect Christmas" by Jose Mari Chan.
A Christmas with my family is a perfect moment for us, we used to celebrate it with all of our family members are present at that night. Little food on the table and fruits depends on our budget hehehe we might be eating air and water by the next day if we loss control to our cute amount of budget, LOL. We are not rich by monetary means but I assure you we are abundant in love, respect, and fun. We are a small family full of hapiness 'coz we dream big but we expect less. hehehe.
Why I love that song 'coz all I want in Christmas is to be with them. But it will be a dream inside the bubbles, once it pups everything will be gone. I am here in KSA a thousand miles away from my family. I might be celebrating with them through phone that's the best thing we can do, at least we celebrate together not to mention the time difference. Philippines are eating lunch while we are eating our breakfast here in KSA. hehehe
I wish I can be with them even in my dream hehehe. "coz I cant afford the ticket while dreaming is free..
So I sing a song just for this contest sir @good-karma I hope you'll like it.
ADVANCE MERRY CHRISTMAS STEEMIT
#steemitachievers
Yayyyy. Go kuya! :D
salamat yushaina.. :)
Good luck my friend !
thanks a lot my friend.
Goodluck po! :)
salamat hehehe.
I hope you send this to your family so they can see how much you miss them! You have a really nice voice. :)
Thank you so much., I wish too but my family out there the Philippines have no access to internet, we communicate thru messenger using a free data. hehehe
That makes sense! Videos are such high bandwidth, I'm spoiled by having infrastructure with lots of free internet around. Hopefully you'll be able to sing for them over the phone then.
For me listening to Elvis Presley's blue Christmas brings the vibes of Christmas. I would play it for my friends and family, because it always puts a smile on their face. There is nothing better for me than seeing my dear ones having a good time.
Good choice :)
Damn. I feel the same way. The song outs me on such a mood, its hard for me to not connect with it !! Thanks for taking me down that memory lane β€
I just discovered my new favorite Christmas song today!
And itΒ΄s actually a crypto-Christmas song! ItΒ΄hilarious!!!
Enjoy! :)
THE SONG
"Alice's Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie from 1967 -All 18 minutes and 34 seconds
ALBUM COVER IMAGE
Why Alice's Restaurant
This song has had really special personal meaning to me from a very early as age my mothers name is ALICE. And well Alice - she just loved this song and made quite sure that every Thanksgiving or the next day after - we's surely wait to hear it come on the radio..
Check it out with the link below if you have been deprived and have never heard it..
Link to Alice's Restaurant
To me its a really great song becuase
A. It tells a store in a very creative way
B. The story is mostly true - all of the major events of it at least.
C. The story was a very strong peace of Anti-War propaganda song attempting to stop the Vietnam War
D. There has never ever ever in the history of Christmas Songs - Actual classified as Christmas Music - been another song produced even remotely important to American Culture which empcompasses - Giving, Happiness, Holiday, Civil Rights, Community, Creativity and oh so much more..
Please share any thoughts or comments below so that hopefully we can start up a productive interactive conversation about this timeless song
Wow, I'd never heard this one before, it was quite the adventure. More like a folksy story, though the Alice's Restaurant ditty sure is catchy (not a bad way to get out of the draft haha). I was talking recently about how there don't seem to be many Thanksgiving songs, but I'll definitely have to put this on one the list for next year.
Yeah bud - YouTube it - it's really worth listening to -
One of my favorite things about Christmas when I was growing up was going to a family friends house and singing carols with their very musically inclined family and whomever else they would invite. It was always a big crowd and they did it at least once a week during the month of December.
As for songs I have always liked we three kings of orient are. It's just got a cool ryhthym and I find myself humming it throughout the year. I am also quite fond of carol of the bells.
I'm not sure I would want to do a solo. But maybe with enough liquid courage and maybe a few other people I would karaoke a Christmas song.
Happy holidays everyone!
Mine is also "All I want for Christmas is you" because I appreciate the love ones around me and lately the you includes the nice people I linked up with on steemit. Yay...
Thank you!!! I appreciate you too!!!!
You're welcome. Good to have you too. :-)
"Christmas Unicorn" by Sufjan Stevens.
I know this isn't the most traditional Christmas song, but if you haven't heard it yet then please press play and go on the 12-minute 29-second journey.
It starts out playful ("I'm a Christmas Unicorn, in a uniform made of gold, with a billy-goat beard and a sorcerer's shield and mistletoe on my nose"), but also talks about the many elusive meanings of Christmas. Is a "pagan heresy", a "Christian holiday", or a time for "frantic shoppers"?
In the album description, Sufjan expresses his exhaustion of Christmas music but then asks: "So what is it about Christmas music that continues to agitate our aging heartstrings?" He then tries to answer his own question: "Maybe this: Christmas music does justice to a criminal world, marrying sacred and profane, bellowing obtuse prophecies of a Messiah in the very same blustery breath as a candy-coated TV-jingle advertising a string of lights and a slice of fruitcake."
So, in a sense, this is a Christmas song that is a commentary about Christmas songs. Which sounds really boring and pretentious.
BUT it's also just a really fun song! It spirals out of control with jingle bells and spacey-electronic-noises and a sweet breakdown beat. If you dance all the way through, I promise you'll get a really good workout.
Case in point, here's how I did the research for this response over breakfast (forgive the awkwardness, pajamas, and PDA):
When I get fatigued by the normal holiday songs, this reminds me that Christmas, crazy as it is, can still be magical. We're all Christmas unicorns. It's all right. I love you.
old is gold ...
sing with me,,,
"Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh, hey
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open sleigh "......
You are right. This is the most common Christmas carol. Reminds me of school cristmas celebration.
I also like this song :)
This was my favorite when I was a kid. We were a family of 11 and it was always a joyful noise! :)
One of my Fave is I'm dreaming of a white Christmas! Because this year it actually snowed where I live after 20 years! Last time it snowed in my town it was 1994 and last Thursday at midnight my husband woke me out of bed to tell me it was snowing. I woke up and low and behold there it was...snowflakes falling out of the sky. It was like I was kid seeing snow for the first time. I sang, I'm dreaming of a white Christmas by myself at midnight in the middle of the street like a crazy person. But I didn't care because it was glorious! Lol.
How cool was that? You truly had a magical day. How perfect!
It was pretty magical. I live in the south of Texas. It never snows here. Some kids here were seeking and touching snow for the very first time!
I love that too!! yay β€
i can sing jingle bell jingel bell' song because that only song i know and its very famous too eveywhere and most of people also know it too.
That is usually the first Christmas song that small children can sing, so it gets sung often at our Christmas gatherings.
My earliest memory of a Christmas song is Away in a Manger which we sang at infant school in UK (kindergarten to lots of other people). It is a very beautiful and simple song which has stuck with me ever since. Although I am not a religious person, but every time I hear Away in a Manager, my memories always wander back to the house where I used to live when I was a young child, when my parents were still alive, when my siblings and I were playing out on the street. Perhaps this is another case of where childhood memories are the sweetest, an indulgence that I enjoy for a few weeks every year.
Away in a manger is a quite a high note tune and my singing is awful, so I don't want to ruin it. Here is an online version that I want to share with everyone, I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
Singing that song is one of my earliest memories, too. To me, it was a song about a sweet little baby, not about religion.
It was our childhood sweet memories singing together with a large numbers of friends and classmate.. those happy days is a innocent part of our happy life.
My favourite Xmas song is "Merry Christmas Everybody" by Slade because Noddy Holder cracks me up with those Lamb Chops! and it's a fun song not all soppy like most of them. But i wouldn't dream of trying to sing it to you unless I was very very drunk! π»
Sleigh Ride!
My mom played the oboe piece in the local community orchestra of this one year and it was amazing. I've loved it ever since.
OH, yes! Let's sing it~
My favorite is "Silver and Gold" by Burl Ives in Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer.
I love me some silver and gold! #steemsilvergold
Great song one of my favourites too :-)
Would you upvote my song for the contest? Thanks for the support!
sorry i was trying to upvote on esteem but there was an error the circle just kept spinning but its done now :)
I get those too. Thanks for the upvote and your help @owenwat!
I love the song of the holy night, especially if the song was sung at christmas eve. The atmosphere is so quiet, full of newness and joy.
I agree with you also! It truly moves my heart.
Yes it was so soulful to heard. love it.from my childhood time till now.
Silver Bells
And not singing a damn thing :)
Oh, please! Sing it! :)
I will... on Christmas Eve... if people remind me to... by midnight ;)
Wonderful!
You haven't heard the singing yet [rimshot]
:)
I think "All I Want For Christmas Is You" is my favorite Christmas song now. Why? My partner, and I started dating right before Christmas so I got what I wanted! lol (2 years ago)
"White Christmas" because it gives me something to sing in my head while I shovel 5 feet of snow off my car every few days during the Canadian winters!
Silent Night, I chose this song not only is it my favorite Christmas song but itβs the only song I would sing to my son every night and he would fall to sleep too.
Love it so much I remember when I was a child your yours. singing lullaby
You must have a beautiful voice to sing him to sleep.
He was a baby didnβt know better. The funniest thing is when he got older, around 3 years old, I was singing to him and he put his little hand over my mouth and said no mommy. Ha, needless to say at that moment he was old enough to know mommy was not a good singer.
Oh no!!! How cheeky of him! π€£
He has always been that way, he is still an honest soul but I respect that about him.
I miss those days :)
My favorite christmas song is Hark the Herald and I would choose this song to sing, for us to know the real meaning of christmas. The spirit of giving is the true meaning of today's season celebration and that is, that God came as a child and gave his life as a compensation of our sins for us to have his promise which is the eternal life.
Thankyou!
Good King Wenceslas is my favorite....and I love to sing...but only when I am the only one who can hear!
πsame here! I sing all day everyday
Good to know I am not alone! Thanks!
I'm at the stage of my life where I don't care how pitchy my voice is, I just sing along loudly!ππ€
What is your favorite Christmas song? Why or Would you sing that for us?
Michael Buble is probably one of the best Christmas singers ever existed. The song has an excellent melody which is a perfect moment to embrace its message. This is what I love about the song @good-karma, the choice of music is perfect when we speak of understanding the essence of the song. Especially when we talk about a special season like christmas which exhibits the season of giving and loving.
This is also a song I dedicate to my family, we often listen to this when Christmas comes (I am also listening as of this moment lol). I learned this from my father as this song and Michael Buble is his favorite singer. The message of the song explains the true essence of Christmas :).
12 days of Christams
It is full of hidden meaning and messages.
A family favorite always!
that's yrue even the young ones know this song in our family.
'all i want for christmas is you' ,Christmas is for a family reunion ,sharing and caring for those who we had missed so much.
We may not always be around but at least Christmas is that time of the year to be gather around.
It is always about the family!
White Christmas is my favorite Christmas song because there are so many childhood memories of my family standing around the piano singing it.
There is no arguing with that! Family piano time is wonderful.
Well talking about Christmas is something cool, well I am an Indian , so we don't have any particular song for Christmas . We celebrate this day as the other days of festival. Even the joy does not stop here. We all the Indian put fire and make a circle around fire and do dance a new have a lot of enjoy.
If you want me to prepare a song for you tell me in reply. I will surely do it for u.
Great post! Wishing everyone the best of karma, health and happiness! We are all in this together. Lets all help each other and make the world a better place! I am upvoting and following you my Friend! :)
My favourite song is "bijeli bozic" and it's actually like croatian version of "Bing Crosby- I'm dreaming of a white christmas" but yes if you wanted I would've definitely sing the english version so more people would understand the lyric. :)
I love this I hope to you too .. hug for all bye.
I'm jewish from Israel, so i've nothing related to Christmas, but i have a hebrew song that me and my family likes to hear in Hanukkah. from 8 years ago
My favortie songs of Christmas are Jingle Bells, Petit Papa NoΓ«l (a very famous french song) and Christmas's songs by Elvis Presley, one of my favorite rock star !
Hmm, tough choice. Probably Silent Night because it reminds me of the brief peace during World War 1.
Silent Night. As a child in school there was a play and I got to be in it. This was the song I remember singing the most and enjoyed being in the play!
May favorite is a tagalog song called( Pasko Na Sinta Ko) it was singing by Filipino artist Gary V. or Valenciano a popular TV Host & Singer. and here is the song written in Tagalog. it was very memorable to me because every Christmas I never celebrated with her because i was in another part of the world. and every words of this song is perfectly in my every Christmas situation here in abroad.
(PASKO NA SINTA KO)
Pasko na sinta ko hanap-hanap kita
Bakit magtatampo't nilisan ako
Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
Paano ang Pasko, inulila mo
Sayang sinta ang sinumpaan
At pagtitinginang tunay
Nais mo bang kalimutang ganap
Ang ating suyuan at galak
Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
Paano ang Paskong alay ko sa'yo
Sayang sinta ang sinumpaan
At pagtitinginang tunay
Nais mo bang kalimutang ganap
Ang ating suyuan at galak
Kung mawawala ka sa piling ko sinta
Paano ang paskong alay ko sa'yo.
Driving Home for Christmas - Chris Rea is my favorite Christmas song.
Reminds me of driving to my family for Christmas Dinner.
Hello my community is today, and I want to share with you this beautiful song that leaves reflections, here I leave a bit of the lyrics, I want to have a Merry Christmas, From the bottom of my heart, Merry Christmas, it is a song that inspires and full of life and joy, the bonuses are also beautiful, with my burrito sabanero I go way of velen, just for a careoke
One of my favorites too!
This is a very nice challenge. My favorite Christmas song is Jingle Bell Rock, this song really memorable to me because whenever we had our intermission number I always choose to have this song because the song is very lively and whenever I play the it can't help but to sing and dance.
I am not gonna sing for you @good-karma I'm gonna dance it for you hah,a this is our video during our Christmas Party together with my collegues. ;)
