My first and only Christmas that I had was in the US. This was in 1991, when I was studying at an American school and lived in a host family. It was absolutely unforgettable! Visiting the Christmas service in the church, decorating the Christmas tree, buying gifts and packing them, a fun bustle ... All of this was very similar to the Russian New Year, but only looked just like it. I liked the very spirit of American Christmas, the unity with the biblical stories. I think that it was a great expirience for me! By the way, In Russia, there is no Christmas on December 25 because it is a Catholic holiday, we celebrate only the new year. Russian Orthodox Christmas is celebrated on January 7 and it is a completely different holiday, more strict and ecclesiastical.
