So far, I’ve been lucky enough to experience 25 Christmas holidays, this year will be my 26th! Now Christmas is a huge deal in my family, but as we’ve all grown older and started families of our own, there’s been a big reset in my life, especially in the way traditions are started and memories are made.
My all time favourite Christmas memory? It actually hasn’t quite happened yet. Of course it was all magical as a child for me, but last year on the 22nd December, my daughter was born, a life changing experience, only 4 days after my own birthday! Due to some complications, we didn’t get to have the ‘Baby’s First Christmas’ in the way we had always imagined.
So this year we’ve made a redo, ‘Baby’s First (Proper) Christmas’
To me, growing up with a separated family really took away the magic of holidays and my old memories of childhood, so this new Christmas with my own little family is all Ill ever need.
Having a child has been the single greatest part of my life so my favourite Christmas memory is yet to happen, because my favourite memory will be waking up with her in our home on a Christmas Day for the first time and seeing her eyes widen at the sight of the magic that Santa has left for her, and then every year will simply get better. This is her world now, and my best memory will be every year seeing a smile on my little girls face as she understands what it is to celebrate love, family, generosity and happiness, all in true meaning.
