One of the first communities that I came in contact with at the beginning of my time at Steemit was @steembasicincome. As a beginning author, Steemit can be a daunting place. It feels like you are posting into an abyss with no ability to grow. Steem Basic Income gives you a guaranteed vote on one post a day, thus giving you a small but cumulative over time support to your account.
With this post, I want to help sponsor people who might not even have the spare 1 STEEM that is required for registration. So, when this post pays out, I will sponsor people depending on the payout of this post. Basically, I will round up the SBD payout from this post and then that will be the number of people I will sponsor. (So, if the payout is 2.3 SBD, I will sponsor 3 people).
So, all you have to do is upvote and comment about what you are planning to write about. At the post payout, I will select the winners based on the size of their account (smaller prefferred), their pitch in the comments and also a little bit of research into their past posts.

It seems like a reasonable idea, but the problem I find with it though is that it would just level everything off, therefore render everything of even a lesser value. Why not focus more on resolving problems that allow for others to take advantage? The rich getting richer I don't think is the problem...it's crooked games. And if the game is crooked, why would there be any reason to play? A basic income would only be a temporary band aid kind of remedy, void of any kind of long term solution.
I assume that you are talking about basic income in general. The idea of universal basic income would be to provide for a minimum living allowance, especially in an era where jobs are increasingly lost to automation. Or in a time when objects can be created on demand, rather than needing to be produced en masse and inefficiently.
However, this contest is not really about that!

I think basic income of Steem is great. I also came across Mannabase. The coin is given out daily, and it doesn't cost 1 Steem to get started. It's completely free.

This is an interesting initiative... I'm planning on posting photos of my travels, artistic works that I like or find out, and a bit about music, too.

Ouch, I see your problem. It really sucks that this can happen. Steer clear of the big guys, I know there are problems structurally with Steemit, but stick to battles that you can win... I am fairly new to steemit and have primarily been posting pictures of my travels and a few about cryptocurrencies in it's various forms.
I am planning to get a better camera and step up my game a bit with better quality and more professional pictures once I can spare the money, and try my hand at posts regarding architecture / engineering, and more detailed posts about cryptocurrencies. I also enjoy participating into the various contests and hope to post some quality mind benders myself with hopefully decent rewards as incentive.
Nice photos already on your blog, I guess you are using something better than a smartphone?
I used some fairly low-end digital camera's before (under 100 euro), now I use my smartphone honor 8 to take snapshots. Which has a good camera for a mid-range smartphone.
Wow, it's pretty good! I use the oneplus 5. Also decent photos in the right conditions.

That's very generous of you. I remember starting out and not having even .5 SBD. The thought of getting 1 Steem was a huge challenge. Fortunately, I got there an invested in a share. I've been on Steemit for almost a month and a half. It's one of the best communities I've ever joined, although there are very poor quality posts so you can only have upvotes and make some money. For that very reason, I remain true to what I write: Gaming, Anime, Giveaways and some mysteries.

Cats first hacked the blockchain (sorry, HAD to-- we were carved on stone blocks...) known as "Ancient Egyptian Culture" and did quite well for themselves, often worshiped and revered; we even had a God (Bastet or Bast) in our image! Steemit is just the latest project ripe for infiltration!
