I add my voice to the vote for @martibus too since I am a hitchhiker myself at times. I really want to follow the journey since I will be in Malaysia and Bangkok watching from afar :)

Yes that would be a great experience and a cool post series to share!

I also have a lot of respect for people who hitchhike as I have done it a lot my self and it is not easy nor convenient. It takes a lot of mental strength as well as physical ability to deal with a lot of uncomfortable situations.

Its also a very interesting and unknown experience!

Thanks for your input!

You are right! It's important to be flexible and on your toes at such a time. This is very nice for you to for steemit in general and the lucky winner in particular. It reminds me why I am glad I try here.

Yes indeed!

I love Steemit and want to help make SteemFest awesome! It is very nice for the one who wins a free ticket worth $222 euros! What a deal! Thats why I want it to be someone who is super deserving!

Great reason @martibis ... Are you going too to steemfest2 😋

Thank you all for the votes you lovely people!
@fitinfun Awesome, I actually hitchhiked from Bangkok to Pai in Thailand a while back, I loved it!
@quinneaker A post series is definitely upcoming for the trip and Steemfest experience!
And I agree with the hardships, but the amazing people you meet on the road seem to always make up for it, haha!
@kenhudoy I definitely hope so!

I have to imagine that hitchhiking in Thailand is very easy. I have never been around such open and helpful people in my life. If I'm lost or confused in my city travels - people leap to help me and stop their own plans to get me where I need to be. I'm sure they veer over eagerly to get you off the road.

Yes, it generally is but communication sometimes is a little hard! I feel most Thai people don't really understand why a "farang" is hitchhiking, but once you explain why you like it they seem very glad to help you out and give you a ride! It's also one of the few countries where I found it easier being on the road as opposed to being in a gas station!

I feel most Thai people don't really understand anything about a "farang" and that is why they are so curious. I speak only a few Thai words but have so many friends here! I think any other country after this will be a letdown :)

Well, I guess it kind of depends where you go! But I do really love the mentality, very friendly people genuinely speaking indeed!
Well, I do really like Thailand, but I like Costa Rica even more! I'm obviously biased as I've lived there for 6 months, haha!

How nice. Great beaches - I know from surfer friends.
