Hi @criticker, you should totally open-source it and put it on @utopian-io... it'll make it more visible AND some developers might help you out with tasks if you submit them... and you won't even have to pay them, Utopian will handle that side.

We're tempted the only problem is that we invested 12 years into the project without getting too much back in return. But now someone could in theory download our code, start their own recommendation page and bypass us in a year if they're better than us in marketing. That's what is holding us back :(

Of course... that's everyone's concern when going for Open Source... but don't forget you've got 12 years of experience above anyone else, and you'd have your own database right... it'd be hard for anyone to catch up quickly.

That's probably true. We just talked to @utopian-io today so we're def. floating the idea and it would be amazing to have a backup for a thousand other talented people. Thank you for those encouraging words.
