3D printing will be taking a very interesting turn with this technology. Granted, it's pretty absurd to be printing 3D objects out in the desert, I mean who has the time, right? But you're right, once this technology is developed, we'll no longer be dependent on electricity and expensive powders, filaments, or liquids used for 3D printing. We can just use regular, inexpensive (and sometimes free) sand and take our printer somewhere it can be exposed to light, and we're good to go. Sustainable and eco-friendly.

I fully agree. The video alone shows the difficulty at the start but as the saying goes, the end justify the means. :)
